Summary: All you ever wanted to know about UNCLE
Review: A fantastic book with all the information you could want to know about this great show of the '60s. Where would we be without UNCLE, Open Channel D and Kuryakin here?

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Great behind-the-scene peek at a show that lives on
Review: As behind-the-scenes books on television shows go, this is one of the best. Extremely accurate, researched from Norman Felton's archives at the U of Iowa as well as from personal interviews with all the major contributors to the series. While the author's analysis focuses more on production than on the creative content of the individual episodes, he provides a good deal of info on related topics ---ie: the movies, the books and the merchandise. This show continues to live on for millions from the boomer generation. Even if you no longer have your plastic U.N.C.L.E. Special, you'll still want to read this book.

Summary: Don't get taken in by regressive fanatics!
Review: Bought this book and read it, but found out utterly not up to level. I've seen much better! One reason for disliking this book is the lack of color photos. Buy it as a book to pass away your time, but don't bet on it as a keepsake. It ain't.

Summary: Ignore those negative reviews
Review: Boy, am I glad I ignored those negative reviews. This book is great. The details of how the series was created is excellent. Also, I was glad to see the episode guide for "The girl from U.N.C.L.E." included. Perfect!

Summary: Great Book
Review: I bought this book when it was first published. Being a Man From UNCLE fan this book brought back so many wonderful memories. It was well worth the price when I bought it originally. It allowed me to travel back to those days when I could not wait for the next episode of The Man From UNCLE. Very informative and a great find for UNCLE or any 60's cult television fan.

Summary: An U.N.C.L.E. Fan Loves The Book
Review: I can't quite figure out the problem the few negative reviewers have with the book. I think their problem is more with the UNCLE series than with the book, or with a childhood they'd rather not remember. If you liked the series (with the exception of most of the 3rd season, which many believe was a disaster, and Heitland explains why)you'll like the book. If you didn't like the series you'll understandably not think much of the book. I loved the series, and even though as an adult I can see its short-comings, I enjoyed the book because it touched that part of my imagination that was filled with awe and wonder by the show. At the age of 12 and 13 I did not want to see behind the scenes-- the fantasy was too wonderful. U.N.C.L.E. was real to me. As an adult I enjoy reading about the mechanics of the series and having a fuller knowledge of a show that helped my imagination to grow.
If you're a real Man From U.N.C.L.E. fan, do yourself a favor and buy the book.

Summary: A "Must Have" book for Man From U.N.C.L.E. fans.
Review: I found this book after my reintroduction to UNCLE fandom. I read it cover-to-cover in one night. I learned more about the show and the people behind the scenes than I had ever gleaned in the previous twenty-five years of being a fan.

Jon Heitland gives a wonderful read, and his insights and anecdotes are like water to a thirsty soul. I use his book as THE reference for all things UNCLE.

I can unreservedly recommend it to UNCLE fans, spy genre fans, and television buffs alike. Outstandingly researched, it is the unsurpassable MFU guide book.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: All the excitement of watching UNCLE again
Review: I had so much fun reading this book and reliving the enthusiasm I had for UNCLE as a teen. Mr. Heitland is a friendly presence throughout, affording us details and hindsight on what made the UNCLE universe so popular. Everything you ever wanted to know, and then some!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: What great memories!
Review: I loved reading every word of this book! If you're an UNCLE fan, or just a fan of 60's tv in general, this book is crammed with details and inside looks at how things were done. It was great getting a new perspective on the show, one of many I spent hours in front of as a kid. Well written and exceptionally researched. Highly recommended!

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: A fairly well written book about an old spy show
Review: I read this book and though it had plenty of nice photos and details about the show, I was disappointed to see missing details about episodes, etc. I would say this book complements TheUNCLE Files(which were published years before this came out) but not vice-versa.
