Summary: A MODERN-DAY CHRISTIAN SURVIVAL HANDBOOK!
Review: Adrian Plass has definitely earned the title of Sanity Preservation Specialist with this book! Throughout the pages of The Sacred Diary of Adrian Plass Aged 37 3/4, Plass brings the lifebuoys of hope and joy to Christians who are struggling to keep their heads above the turbulent waters of modern day Christianity.

The combination of Adrian Plass's incredible sense of comedic timing and deep insights into Christian living, will leave you apologizing OFTEN to family members for interrupting their activities with your recurring outbursts of irrepressible laughter. The Sacred Diary of Adrian Plass Aged 37 3/4 proves once again that Plass can dish out consistently humorous insights, while at the same time challenging the reader to seriously examine his/her own Christian walk.

If you're feeling like you can't possibly fathom attending even one more church (dis)function, The Sacred Diary of Adrian Plass Aged 37 3/4 is an absolute must read!

P.S. Addrian's a hysterical read - an anagram of "The Sacred Adrian Plass Diary".

(Alright. You caught me! I spelled his name with an extra "d". It's better than the alternative anagram though, which is "P.S. Adrian's a hysterical adder". His work DOES have bite, but it's far from venomous.)

Summary: Roll on the floor, Cry your eyes out funny
Review: Adrian Plass manages to communicate the simple--and most profound truths--while making us laugh at ourselves. This is a book that I read at least once a year. In the midst of all of our "working for the Lord," Plass reminds us that first and foremost, God was us to KNOW Him. After all, "God is nice and He likes us."

Summary: I LOVED IT!!!!!!!!
Review: Adrian Plass' Sacred Diaries are hilarious! I was concerned that the sequel would not be as good as the first, but my concerns were soon put to rest as I began to read the first few pages. I became very attached to all of the characters in the first book and was grateful to find them all there. Plass is a comical genius in my opinion. These books are laughter therapy for any Christian.

Summary: Suprisingly Funny!
Review: Friends in the UK sent us this book a few years ago, and I can't thank them enough. Adrian Plass has now outranked Frank Peretti and Max Lucado as my favorite author of all time. He has an amazing ability to make the reader laugh out loud, and on occasion, even cry. I am an avid reader and no other writer has ever touched my soul the way that Plass does. Whenever I am having a particularly rough day, I read a few favorite parts of this book and I find the stress melting away.

Do yourself a favor and start building a library of his works. I am doing that now, and can honestly say that I have not been disappointed by anything I have read so far. If you live in the US, it can be hard to find Plass's books. But it is well worth the investment and the time.

Excellent, excellent book!

Summary: Honest and Funny Mirror of Real Church Life
Review: Honest book. Too direct for some? On my opinion, one of the best contemporary Christian books. It simply describes Evangelical Church Life. In a funny way. But be careful. You should have humour.. In the beginning, I had regarded the book as nearly blasphemous: when becoming a Christian I regarded my Church as perfect and did not want to see the human error we all commit. All my Christian friends like it and it's a good laugh and makes us think. As a Chrstian, a book I do not want to miss.

Summary: Uplifting and side-splittingly funny - yet touches the soul!
Review: I first read this book after reading the Secret Diary of Adrian Mole and was expecting something along the same lines. What a surprise. This book was one of those that you pick up and read and while the tears of joy roll down your cheeks the message seeps into your heart. An absolute delight Mr. Plass and a real mirror to ones own views on churchlife and Christianity. If you haven't already savored this treat you should!

Summary: Ranks next to the Bible in greatness!
Review: I just finished The Sacred Diary for the fifth time. The verdict was in the first time through, but life seems to brighten so much more on subsequent readings that it has now become part of my daily quiet time (jk). I have loaned my copy to over 40 people, every one of whom raved about it, but I finally loaned it out once too often and it never came back. Thanks to a friend who loaned me his copy, I was able to reattach myself to this excellent read.

What I can't understand is why the book is unavailable, at least in the States and so far here in Singapore. I've never seen a book with more popular appeal and yet 40 people are forced to read the same copy of the book. When will a bigger publisher grab this book up and distribute it as it should be?

All I can say is that this book will get at the funny bone of all Christians (except, perhaps, the Mrs. Flushpools). But it will also help you shake off some of those rags of religion that you were never intended to wear.

Plass summarizes the gospel succinctly: God is nice and He likes you. Let's not complicate it more than we have to. Start by reading this book.
