Review: It's like reading the web version... Except you have to pay 13 dollars for it!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: very funny, but R-rated
Review: Like the web site, the book is hilarious. However, beware - it's a bit raunchy. While I don't personally mind the humor, it's not necessarily a book to leave out on the coffee table when grandma comes over to visit.

Summary: Memorable Articles and Many Laughs
Review: My friend bought this book last year and we became obsessed. We still quote from it on a daily basis. "You hurt me just now when you hit me with that shovel" and "I bet I wouldn't be laughing so hard if it was me in that fire" top our list, as well as "Your honking has shown me the error of my ways." Our amusement never fades and it is as funny the millionth time as it was the first. Even real newspapers remind us of the Onion, with headlines like "Pretty China Tea Set Just a Fake." The Onion really does hit the nail on the head. Some articles are slightly disturbing, but in a funny, if offensive, way. There are some incredibly blasphemous articles, but if you can take a joke you will be fine.+++

Summary: Hilarious
Review: One of the most unique styles of comedy. This is the complete news archives of Vol 13. You can not find this stuff anywhere else unless you horded every single issue from October, 2000 to October, 2001. I bought the book just as I have every other Onion book, and this is the best yet. Buy it today, you will not regret it.

Summary: Lucky Thirteen
Review: Strange to start a reprint series with number 13. Maybe they'll go back and fill in early year's of the newspaper's run. As it is, you have classic stories about the metric system taking off in the inner city (think 9mm). Rude, flippant stuff and very funny.

Summary: HYSTERICAL
Review: The Onion has done it again!

After three hysterical releases of Our Dumb Century, Finest News Reporting, and (my personal favorite) Dispatches From the Tenth Circle, The Onion has published a cry-out-loud-it's-so-funny book filled with satire on many subjects-ranging from September 11th (Hijackers Surprised to Find Selves in Hell) to religion (God Diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder) to fast food (Developmentally Disabled Burger King Employee Only Competent Worker). However, if you are easily offended, don't buy this book. Somewhere or other within these 264 pages of sheer brilliance, you will get offended. Otherwise, buy it without a doubt, as well as the other Onions. You won't be disappointed.

Summary: Genius Satire
Review: The Onion has perhaps more cultural relevance than USA TODAY and the NY Times put together. Book form is also much easier to read than it's online counterpart. Worth every penny.
