Summary: The official Simpsons Standard Work!
Review: This is it--exactly what you need to understand the Simpsons and the many jokes within the Smpsons. This book has everything you need to see the second layer of the humor. I am amazed at how often I refer to this book!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: This book is perfect for all Simpsons fans!
Review: I have been watching "The Simpsons" as long as I could remember. I have seen every episode of "The Simpsons" and I thinks it's the best show on tv now, even the reruns. This book tells you just about everything you'd need to know about all the episodes, things you might have missed, lyrics to songs they might have sang, Bart's blackboard, a summary of the episode, some dialogue. It's very insightful. This book is REALLY great when you have the CD, "The Simpsons: Songs in the Key of Springfield" which has 39 tracks of songs sung throughout the years like music from Tony Bennet, Robert Goulet, Tito Puente, and it has songs sung by fictional characters like Lurleen Lumpkin, the whole Simpson family, Apu, Krusty, Mr. Burns, and a lot more. These are two things every "Simpsons" fan should have, so guy buy it. If I made a spelling mistake, well then, d'oh!

Summary: "Must have" guide to viewing America's favorite ... D'oh
Review: This book would be priceless for the avid "Simpsons" fan. "Simpsons: Complete Guide" has everything worth looking for in an episode and then some: Full episode descriptions, couch and blackboard gags, personality profiles of regular characters and guest stars and so much more. While "Simpsons: Complete Guide" lacks an exhaustive listing of gags, references, etc., it isn't because it's not necessary; a Simpsons' fan World Wide Web site is more appropriate for being exhaustive. What "Simpsons: Complete Guide" does do is satisfy the needs of most fans of the TV series. Beware, however, that this book only covers the first eight seasons (January 1990 through May 1997); a companion book covering seasons 9 and 10 (September 1997 through May 1999) certainly complements this book. Hopefully, a book covering seasons 11 and 12 (September 1999 through May 2001) will be published soon to update the "Simpsons" fan's library.

Summary: ATTENTION SIMPSONS FANS.
Review: This is a useful, not to mention entertaining resource for all you Simpsoniacs out there. There are plot summaries, pictures from your favorite episodes and every page contains a profile of a character. It contains hilarious dialogue from the various episodes and things that you may have missed- you'll soon be rewinding the episodes you taped to check this out. A colorful book that provides hours of reading. Keep it close to your tv set to refer to it every once in a while.

Summary: Was going to give it 5 starts but...
Review: I would have given this book 5 starts but then I read what some other people wrote and agreed with it. This book is for the hard-core simpsons fan not some who is looking for a laugh. That fact creats somewhat of a catch-22. There is no behind the scenes info on any of the episodes so there isn't anything the hard-core fans wouldn't know so they won't like it that much. On the other hand, people who know little about the simpsons aren't impressed because it isn't funny. Simply put, it is a REAL guide. It is very informative and VERY HANDY!

Thee reason why it made 4 stars not 3 is because if I am watching an episode and I want to see some info on what it is etc. and what to look for in it, I can go to my handy old Simpsons book and look it up.

The print and pages are great and it has excellet info. It is excellent within the bounds of what you can really do with a guide, but a guide for a humorous show can never make 5 starts for me.

Summary: Simpsons EVERYTHING
Review: Wow, this book is great. It has everything you wanted to know about the Simpsons, and if you're a real Simpsons fan, you'll buy it right now. It has episode guides, character guides, and LOADS of funny jokes, pictures, and things you may have missed in the episodes.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: I was skeptical but I agree
Review: this is an immense and thoroughly entertaining undertaking by the author. It is by turns hilarious and interesting. If you cant watch the show, then read this. It is almost, but not quite, as fun as the show is. It also showcases the amazing depth to the show. There is not a comedy, now or ever, that was put together with such intricacy and plot and imagination. This is really intelligent stuff. Loved it!

Summary: If this qualifies as non-fiction,
Review: Then it is my favorite non-fiction book ever! There is so much in these pages I nearly fainted when I had discovered it! Being a Simpsons-obsessive, like the editor guy said, I did find little wrong things here and there. (not necessarily wrong, but not enough info) And, towards the end of the book (or maybe it's the way the series turned out) there seems to be a little less info on each episode. I read it all the time. In fact, I'm going to have to buy a second copy pretty soon because I read mine WAY too much. Another thing is, the pictures are a little fuzzy, and I felt the book could've been a LOT thicker. (I think every ep should have its own two page spread!) This book far exceeds Forever! probably mainly due to the fact that the seasons contained are the best Simpsons eps ever. A few more quibbles: Why was the Cape Feare ep only one page? Who the heck is Dr. Colossus? I swear I've seen that ep hundreds of times, but he's not in there! Maybe it's been cut (my local channel is known for cutting small scenes in their reruns) but it's driving me mad. Email me if you have any info. Lastly, why was there a printing mess-up? I had to buy TWO versions because much the season four and the entire five was missing. I know MG probably had nothing to do with it, but it kinda got me mad. Enough of the negative. But this book is really great! The sad day The Simpsons gets cancelled, they should go back and do a two page spread on every ep, but till then this'll do fine.

Summary: and a complete guide it is...
Review: with "things you may have missed" and other things in this book, you wouldn't have missed anything in buying this book. How many times Homer said "Do'h" and his "mmm's", bart's chalkboard entries, guest characters/stars and the many jokes, this much, much more than those ... popular TV show guides. Excellent color feature, but wonderful summaries. Anything you ever wondered about the Simpsons...included in the guide. It definetly is complete; if you buy the 2nd one, The Simpsons Forever!: the complete guide continued. It even includes character descriptions, if you didn't already know. The ideal book for any huge Simpsons fan. With all the memorable episodes included, its a must-buy for any Simpsons fan. There's so much information packed in the pages, you'll spend you're valuable time reading this....
