Summary: The Simpsons: A _NOT_ Complete Guide to...
Review: For your average, less than 100%-devoted Simpsons-maniac, this book is definitely a great and useful source of fun and interesting facts. However, for a person that has already come across with clearly more comprehensive accounts (in the web, of course)on the episodes, the book contains little new information. The greatest disappointments were the absence of _numerous_ references and the difficulty in using the index (the indexed words are actually quite arduous to spot on the pages referred to). Also, the quotes should either have been complete or left out entirely. As it is, the absence of some of my favorite lines just makes me angry. As far as objectivity is concerned, I don't think the authors are the right party to put this kind of thing together. A group of people should first do the groundwork and then check the things they're not sure about from the actual authors. I don't deny Groening's genious, but as he is so close to the series, a certain clinicism/objectivity this book needs, is missing.

Summary: Great Book!!
Review: This Simpsons guide is an awsome companion for any Simpson lover. It runs the spectrum from character profiles to subtle lines loyal viewers may have missed. Lets only hope a second edition is in the making!

Summary: Definately a book for anyone who loves the Simpsons.
Review: Wow. This book is just amazing. Me being a devoted Simpsons fan I rated this a nine, but that is because (and this didn't occur often) there were some quotes in the show I would have liked to see in this book. But, afterall, I am very picky and anyone else must love this book. I just can't wait for the second edition.

Summary: Thank you for the positive feedback.
Review: I'm heartened, as the editor of this book, that the reading public can appreciate a book with very small type but very large ambitions. The support on amazon.com and the site's many subscribers and users has helped push this book quickly into the stratosphere. It was a blast to put together, and the feedback has made it all worthwhile.

Summary: The most comprehensive Simpsons book out now
Review: This book is a must for any Simpsons fan. A comprehensive episode guide which includes everything that you wanted to know about every single episode of the Simpsons. Anything you would ever want is in this book.

Summary: Not bad, but hopefully the second edition will be better.
Review: I was ecstatic when I saw that an official Simpsons episode guide had finally been published. After poring over it for about a week and a half, however, I have discovered that it is in fact a disappointment-- lots of *obvious* movie references and some classic lines are missing. Compounding the omissions are numerous annoying typos and grammar errors. This book would have been much better had they not tried to cram an episode into only one or two pages. The screen captures from the episodes are of poor quality and take up space that could have been used for other things. Now that I think about it, this work probably would have been better as a CD-ROM or two (or ideally, one disc per season, so a new disc can be released after each season) chock full of video and audio clips from each episode and with a nice search engine so you can find all the eps that make a reference to "Dr. Strangelove" with a mouse click or two.

Summary: Why I think this book is great for any Simpsons fan.
Review: After reading this book, I was amazed. I am a very big Simpsons fan and some of the stuff in this book was new to me. I even play Simpsons trivia with my friends. Having the chalkboards makes the reading even more fun. I highly recommend this to any Simpsons fanatic.

Summary: The ultimate guide for the discerning Simpsons viewer
Review: For any serious fan of The Simpsons, the book is not recommended--it is mandatory. The book includes information on every episode prior to its publication. The book contains all the boring stuff (date of airing, episode number, e.g.), but the true value of the book is in the many features for each story and the exhaustive indeces. Here you'll find Barts many blackboard writings ("I will not belch the national anthem," e.g.), a list of the episodes in which Homer says "D'oh," Patty's brand of cigarettes (Lady Laramie 100's), and so much more. My two favorite features are "Stuff you may have missed," which lists a variety of subtle elements (such as Bart spelling "eat my shorts" in the answer spaces of a history test), and an exhaustive list of all the voices behind the characters. Quite simply, any fan of the show must own this book.

Summary: A must have for Simpson fans
Review: It is hard pressed to find anyone who does not like the animated series "The Simpsons". "The Simpsons" is one of the longest running tv series and one of the funniest tv series in history. Unfortunately the last few seasons have been rather inconsistent and lacks the creativity and magic of the earlier episodes, nevertheless the show is a lot smarter and cutting edge than most tv series nowadays. Thank heavens I can relieve the earlier episodes with this official guide to the popular tv series. "The Simpsons: a complete guide to our favorite family" covers the first eight seasons. This is a really excellent comprehensive guide to the show. As a big fan of the first several seasons, I love this book. I loved reading all of the couch gags from the first eight seasons. I didn't realize there was so many until I read them all. I also dug reading the highlights of each episode. I also loved reading the brief bios on the lesser known but equally funny characters like Cletus, Tattoo Annie, and Lionel Hutz. There is a great list of the actors and the cbaracters that they give life to. If you love "The Simpsons" and the first eight seasons, this book is a must have. It is a true testament to Matt Groening as well as the legacy of the show.

Summary: A Must Have for all Simpsons Fans
Review: This guide covers the first eight seasons and it is amazing. The illustrations as well as the descriptions of the episodes are great. Even the most faithful of fans will most likely learn from the "the stuff you might have missed" box that is included with each episode. This is definitely a great gift for every Simpsons lover.
