Summary: It's a Chick Thing: Celebrating the Wild Side of Women's Fri
Review: A refreshing and fun view of women's relationships! I thoroughly enjoyed each story, especially that some were written by famous, some by younger and some by older women! The book made me laugh out loud and it inspired me pick up the phone to call friends that I have not spoken to in a while to rekindle old laughs and set the stage for new adventures. There is nothing like a good group of girlfriends to have fun with! I recommend this book as a gift to all your "Chick Friends"! It will add spark back into your life!

Summary: It's A Boring Chick Thing
Review: After reading about half this book I was disappointed. I agree with one reviewer who stated that it seemed geared to the older chicks. While I'm 47, I still found most of the stories tame and rather dull. All I kept thinking was "I've topped that" everytime I read another one. And I probably still could!

Summary: A great gift for all your girlfriends
Review: After reading this book, I immediately went out and got it as a christmas present for all the chicks in my life. This book reminded me of what's important in life and one thing top on the list are all of my girlfriends who have been there to laugh with me and cry with me. Rejoice in others' stories and it will bring back rushing memories of your own.

Summary: Buy two & give one to a friend
Review: Based on Wendy Block's review, I'd guess that she hasn't had a date since some dweeb stood her up at her High School Prom. Get a life honey! This is a book that's lots of fun -- and I'm not even a chick (I borrowed my wife's copy).

Summary: Chicks with a twist of lime, please
Review: Funny (laugh out loud by yourself kind of funny), touching (get choked up and weepy by yourself kind of touching) and an altogether great read about how rewarding and enduring friendships between women really are. "Chicks" is a nostalgic, feisty, serious, emotional, playful & intelligent read--a great tribute to our sisterhood. Story format is a great match to most women's almost non-existent personal time because you actually can finish one (even TWO!!) stories in the privacy of your closet before the children, husband, mother, boss, phone etc. find you . . . RUN, do not walk, to get this one.

Summary: It's Definately a Chick Thing
Review: I am having so much fun reading this book. The stories always bring to mind the things my friends and I did and sometimes still do. Enjoy this book and share it with your closest friends.

Summary: I disagree with you Ladies!
Review: I bought the book because I read all of the great reviews posted on Amazon, the catchy title and the great review, but I do not agree--the book was not that great. Maybe its because I am only 32, and generation X-er but I thought the book was too "polite" something about most of the stories (if not all) coming from women who came of age during the 40's, 50's, and 60s. I think generally women of my generation (x'ers) express a lot more "verbally" and are "free-er" with language than of the women in this book. I did like a few of of the stories such as "Loretta Lynn and Patsy Kline's friendship, one about a girl name Allegra, the Beach Club B's, and one or two other stories. I just dropped the book in the mail for my Mother in law who is 57 to read, its more of her style and than mine (not even anything I would ever want to keep on in my extensive book collection. I just feel this horribly opressive climate when I read this book, women are less sexually adventuros and an more "goody goody." It just did not appeal to me, considering the price I paid for the book. I know it none of my other friends of my generation, would have liked it either! (Thank GOd, I have somebody I can "pawn this book off on"--its too expensive to just give to Goodwill or the second hand bookstore...

Summary: Wonderful & Witty
Review: I found this book an absolute delight! So much so it prompted an all "chick" reunion weekend amongst myself and four other good friends - what a great way to reconnect. It's a Chick Thing brought back so many good memories of the times we had spent together - all weekend we kept thumbing through this witty and wonderfully written book relating our stories to those contained within.

I bought each of my girlfriends a copy so that we can continue the strong and important bonds of female friendships.

A MUST READ AND A MUST GIFT!!!
