Review: The book/cd is quite good though I found the cd a little fast-paced. The good thing is you can always pause and go back. Other than that its a very well-rounded book...it shows you the parts of the violin and how to care for it...tuning is discussed and how to hold the instrument.It is a very good instructional book to get if you are just beginning to play. If you already know how to play a little or have had some background experience years ago, this book might be a little easy for you...however its still good for a brush-up. Consider getting the video as well...the book, cd, and video compliment each other very well.

Review: This book is an excellent start for a beginner that is on their own. The book is simple and easy to follow. The CD is also a great help in tuning up. Mr Tolles is an excellent teacher and his methods are easy to follow. I plan to also purchase The Fiddle Primer.
