Summary: Help for your BOS...
Review: I am pretty new to the craft (almost 2 years) and out of all the Wicca 101 books that I have read the most overwhelming chapter has always been on how to create your BOS. I made one out of a folder but soon learned that just one book wasn't enough to hold everything. Then I started having so much trouble with getting organized. Sometimes, it seemed the same information belonged in many sections, and sometimes I couldn't find a section where certain information belonged. When I saw the title of this book I decided to try it because, well, I was desperate for some help. The information in the book is shallow but that is very nice for someone just starting out because it helps you organize the information when it is still manageable and allows you to do farther research later. Another nice thing about this book are all the "crafts" ideas, creative things, that you can undertake if you have time such as creating your own paper and ink. And, finally, you end up with a BOS that you can actually use. The down side to this book is that if you have a few years under your belt, you might find this book boring and the information too shallow for your liking. That is why I gave it 4 stars. I think that this is a great book for some who has only read a few books and the Craft and is a beginner. I would highly recommend over some of the other books out there. But for someone who has had years of experiance I would suggest to find something else (or at least check the book out at the book store before spending money on it).

Summary: This book was ok...
Review: I didn't especially like this book. I found more information on making a book of shadows with deity's than with folk magic. But it might just be that I don't especially like Wicca and I'm only 10.

Summary: It wasn't quite what I expected...
Review: I had originally thought that this book wold be FILLED with ideas about constructing your OWN BOS. But, only about 1/3 (if even that) dealt with the subject. What we REALLY need is a book written by many, MANY, Witches including a plethora of ideas for constructing your own BOS. I wonder why no one's ever had a Best-BOS contest before?

Summary: Great for Novice and Adept Alike
Review: I had the rare chance to get a sneak peek at this book while it was being written. It was filled with great bits from the author's own BOS, and is in itself a working BOS. Lots of great ideas for making your book and personalizing it.

Summary: Give Me Back My Book ! ...
Review: I have only read half of this book, and so far it's great, but I probably won't finish it because "someone" borowed it from me and never gave it back. And, I was just getting to the "Animal Magick Corespondences" of the book!

Now I am writting a spell to get my copy back, and I'll do something mudanely to get it back (magick doesn't do the whole work for you!). From what I've read, it's worth the price. It also has a great instructions on making your own cover and paper for your BoS, it gives you some great ideas.

Summary: A Wonderful Book!
Review: I really enjoyed reading this book, by Patricia Telesco. It had so much useful information within it. I refer to this book on a daily basis as I build my own Book of Shadows. This book is a must have for any Witch/Wiccan

Summary: Your Book of Shadows
Review: I think that this is an excellant tool for the solitary practicioner in stimulating the imagination to get start in creating and developing their first book of shadows. I feel that Telesco gives practical information in getting started, and in not so 'watered-down' with over the head hocus pocus. I would even recommend this for pre-teens (of course with supervision) in exploring their pagan side of their spirituallity.

Summary: A very good start
Review: I think this is a very good start to compiling YOUR book.
Wicca is personal/spiritual, this is your chance to write what you want/believe. This is your legacy.

Summary: Wonderful book for ANY practitioner!
Review: I was having a major problem teaching students how to create a Book of Shadows of their own...you know how you do some things yourself, but you can't quite describe how to do them? Trish Telesco does NOT have this problem! This is a WONDERFUL resource for starting your BOS...she gives you tips throughout the book as to where to put the information she is providing into your own book, which is very helpful!! Get this book if you're having problems trying to sort out all of your magickal notes!
