Summary: What a riot
Review: If you like gambling and Vegas read this. Each chapter is a different story about a high roller or scallawag or some other such hillarious gambling story.

Summary: Entertaining Gambling Stories
Review: Is this an entertaining book? Absolutely. Does it tell stories of all different type games, blackjack, sports books, horseracing, poker? Yes, this book gives a good overview of gambling and interesting stories to entertain the reader.

And that is it in a nutshell. I am not a big gambler but casually enjoyed this book. But I have a complaint. The title. The first story in the book is about the guy who had breast implants to win a $100,000 bet even though the story alludes to it being more of a dare than an actual bet. A picture is included and I assure you it's not fun to look at. My problem is the sensationalized title when it's less than 15% of the book.

I was referred this book by Amazon after reading Bringing Down the House, a story of MIT students who card count their way to millions. I strongly recommend that book for an interesting gambling story. The reviews for this book were very good so I decided to try it. If you have an interest in gambling, you'll enjoy this book. But it's probably only for people for whom gambling is a significant interest in their life.

Summary: So much fun to read, you won't put it down.
Review: Konik did an excellent job of tracking down some pretty bizarre gambling stories. This was a fun look at some of gambling's legends and the stories behind them.

I heard Konik on a radio interview he gave to a local radio show. His stories were so incredible that I had to read his book.

Summary: A GEM OF WIT, INSIGHT AND REPULSION!
Review: Konik has a brilliant way of writing humorously about his sometimes freakish subjects without being condescending. Fact is truly stranger (and funnier) than fiction, but it is really Konik's writing that is the star here. One can only hope we will hear more from him in the future.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Good read and worth buying
Review: Konik is an enjoyable writer and he has a good style. I'd say he and Frank Scoblete are the two best writers in the gaming genre. This particiular book has many fine tales although at times it is derivative. This book won't teach you how to play the games but it is fun to read.

Summary: Classic
Review: Konik is the same guy on all the poker televsion shows. He obviously has a lot of connections in the gambling world which gives him great stories to tell. There's all sorts of entertaining stuff to amuse you in this collection. I like the stories about greyhound racing (laugh out loud funny) and the ones about playing the World Series of Poker. This is a must for anyone who likes gambling stories.

Summary: Entertaining and Outrageous
Review: My boyfriend takes me along to the casinos with him a few times a month. I don't gamble myself, but I like watching everyone who does. It's a great place to do people watching and character studies. This book was like peeking through a window into the private lives of the gambling world. I loved it.

Some of the stories people had told me about before. It was interesting to see them in print. I learned a lot.

Konik has a really nice way with words, even when it's about a sort of grungy subject. I would recommend this book to anyone, even if they don't gamble, but especially if they do!

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Fun but Shallow
Review: The first story is hilarious, but the rest are merely "very good". Worse, they are too short. If you want a long summer read, pick up "Big Deal".

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Highly Entertaining
Review: The stories are funny, and provide an interesting look into the crazy things people sometimes do...It makes a great gift for someone heading off to Vegas!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Super
Review: There's not much strategy, how-to-win at craps, etc. There's a lot of excellent stories about interesting people and their adventures in gambling. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to go "behind the scenes." Super writing.
