Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Great Coverage of Tactics, Openings & General Concepts
Review: This was just the book I had been looking for. I had a copy of Logical Chess by Fine that also used games that explain what is happening with every move - but this book provides accurate and up to date coverage of important openings within the games.
The tactics and use of "general rules" that apply to the different situations are interesting and very instructive!
I like being challenged by the author asking me to find the best move at various times during each game. This makes it like a problem to solve.
The author has a deep understanding of relating to the student. You can judge this book by its cover! I am rated over 1000 and feel this book has increased my ability over another 100 points!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Clear, Accurate and Well Balanced
Review: Unbeatable Chess Lessons is one of the best instructional chess books on the market.
Clear - the book progresses through 24 games with the comments on every move being written in a clear and easy language that an average 9 year old reader can easily understand. The average analysis of each move covers material at a basic level for the advanced beginner, but when necessary, for the more advanced student it goes into enough detail to give sufficient coverage to show what is going on.
As mentioned in some previous reviews the author has an insight into what is going on in the mind of the typical student. This is provided by the author having used these games for many years in lessons - this is a factor making this book unique and superior to the other books I have seen using games in a lesson format. None of the games were recently played as this book contains games that have been used in lessons for many years.
Accurate - After carefully going over every game in the book, as an experienced tournament player I have not found any mistakes in the analysis of moves. In fact this book contains many improvement in the openings and even in the analysis found in Fischer's Sixty Memorable Games. The author, highly rated Nationally over 2300 and Internationally over 2400 has combined his ability as a player along with his successful teaching methods to make the analysis both clear and accurate.
Well Balanced - as mentioned on the cover the book contains game played by the author and by some of the world's best players (one other reviewer missread the cover and said otherwise!). Though there is excellent coverage of the openings (a great way to help you learn your openings) the concepts using tactics, postional play and building an attack are particularly instructive. There are several good endgames - though the book's introduction clearly states that there isn't a great focus on the endgame.
Overall - This is the best game collection book of its type I have seen and highly recommend this book for both kids and adults rated over 800 and under 1600. For players rated over 1600 I would recommend the very advanced book on game written by Nunn.
