Rating: Summary: One of the best script ever Review: Maybe this is not the only perfect story ever written, but the most intelligent and sensitive. I think who are going to read it will know what is life about and why we are here. There is everything in one note:"Sorry, I had to go see about a girl."Well it is really great.
Rating: Summary: Enjoyable Read Review: No one will ever be able to convince me William Goldman didn't write this, nonetheless it is enjoyable to find some scenes that were missing from the final cut of the film. Cheers to Goldman for his script-doctor work, and cheers to Damon and Affleck for accepting the Oscar.
Rating: Summary: Great Movie! Great Screenplay! Review: One of the best screenplays produced the best movie of 1997. Good Will Hunting was the best movie and deserved more that just a best screenplay award. The Screenplay is a bit different (obviouly), but it's great!
Rating: Summary: Great script of a great movie Review: The lines such as "How do you like them apples" are classics already. The movie was brilliant and I own the screenplay. A terrific insight into the anatomy of the film.
Rating: Summary: To "Where's the beef": Review: The NSA speech of which you write is there for all the world to see on pages 125 and 126 of the book. Do yourself a favor and purchase this screenplay.
Rating: Summary: Definitely The Best Screenplay In 1998 Review: The screenplay is so alive with all those characters in it. I can't understand why the movie lost out to "Titanic" just because the latter is a huge-budget movie.
Rating: Summary: You must read this book! Review: This is a beautifuuly written piece of artwork. The story is touching, the characters are engaging, and the writing is superb. The two won a well-deserved Oscar for their mastery. If there was a higher grade than 10, this piece deserves it.
Rating: Summary: Opinions from a thirteen year old. Review: This screenplay is unbelievable. The men who wrote this amaze me! There are only subtle differences that differ the movie from the book. Although I'd seen the movie before reading the screenplay, I still enjoyed reading it greatly. The emotional heartfelt words will bring you to tears many times. Will Hunting, the title character, progresses from a genious, slacker boy to a strong, independent man. As a thirteen year old, I can relate to the immaturaties of this character. I reccomend this screenplay to people of all ages.
Rating: Summary: A screenplay devoted to challenging the mind, heart, and sou Review: This screenplay penned by Matt Damon and his pal Ben Affleck is both immensely heartfelt and beautifully scripted. Its dialogue is extremely well-thought and intelligent. This is extremely evident in the conversations between Will Hunting, a genius janitor with a sad family history, and his psychologist, Sean. It's setting of Southern Boston is also a beautiful addition to the visual images the screenplay plays in our minds. The basic story about a young man trying to cope with family pain is somewhat similar to the film "Ordinary People". This is a piece of riveting literature not only for Hollywood honchos and box office bullies, but also for people who enjoy a wonderful story.
Rating: Summary: not so hotsie Review: This screenplay shows the authors have writing talent, but that it is not very developed yet. William Goldman helped write this screenplay, and even HE didn't think it was that great a screenplay (as he says in "Premiere" magazine). I know it won Oscars for the writers, but then Sylvester Stallone was once nominated for a best-acting Oscar...what does that tell you about the award? I think this screenplay showed promise, and I hope the writers try to develop their skill further, so that one day they may write a good screenplay. But winning an Oscar, they may think they don't need to improve, and that would be bad for them and movie audiences, both.
