Rating: Summary: Beatles Gear Review:
This is one fine book, many very good pictures, lots of information.
May not be 100% complete as all gear used but it covers the most important.
Could have had more coverage on Sir Pauls bass but there is some.
I'm satisified with it, goes well with my collection.

Rating: Summary: Excellent Review: A definitive work on the instruments and equipment that The Beatles used. 'Nuff said.
Rating: Summary: BEATLES GEAR..FAB!! Review: A GOLD MINE OF INFO FOR ALL OF US BEATLEMANIACS!! WELL ILLUSTRATED,INFORMATIVE,A KEEPER!! FILLED IN THE BLANKS I NEEDED TO KNOW ABOUT RINGO'S KIT(S).
Rating: Summary: Good, interesting, but a few problems... Review: A very interesting book which I enjoy reading and looking at more than a few times. It has inspired me to learn how to play guitar. On the con side, I wish the book was indexed or had an appendix that listed all the gear the Beatles used on an album or in all their number one songs at least (or, just a list of all their gear in one location in the book). While most of the photographs are excellent there are numerous pictures of receipts and other paperwork that are sized so small that it becomes meaningless because you can't make out anything on it! I hope the publisher will consider losing some of the text and enlarging the receipt pictures et. al. so they are clearly legible. Also, a list of public collections where some of the gear can be viewed in person would be a useful addition. No other rock 'n roll band will command a book that is written about just their gear. The Beatles were incredible and so far ahead of their time musically. I found myself looking at the pictures of various instruments while replaying songs in which the instrument was used. Great stuff.
Rating: Summary: Totally Fab! Review: Absolutely outstanding! I'm a Beatle equipment nut and this book is really "gear". The writing is excellent with just enough photos to keep one's interest peaked. Everything is covered from the first fuzz pedal used in very early recordings to the custom paint job on Harrison's "Rocky" stratocaster. All Beatle fans should own this one.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Book Review: An Excellent Hardcover book. Could have used more pictures of the beatles in the studios but I hear that the costs to use them were too high. Nevertheless a great book and must for any beatle fans.
Rating: Summary: Fab Gear, Fab Book Review: Andy Babiuk really knows what he's talking about in this wonderful book. He explains the instruments that the Beatles used and how they changed pop music as we know it. Not only is it packed with information, the book has some great pictures. It's a perfect compliment to the Beatles Anthology because it is so in-depth and wonderful.
Rating: Summary: Great book but... Review: Andy Babiuk's "Beatles Gear..." is a great reference for the Beatles completist. I keep it alongside "The Complete Beatles Recording Sessions" as a visual diary of those times and how great their impact was. As a home recording guitarist, I am humbled that there are so many things I take for granted today that were pioneered then. The book is meticulous in detail but Mr. Babiuk's occasional editorializing (He states that Mal Evans was murdered, for example) detracts a bit from the real reason I bought this book in the first place. Beautiful pictures of some beautiful (and some not so beautiful) instruments and a treasure for any Beatles fan.
Rating: Summary: For nostalgia or reference...A MUST HAVE BOOK! Review: Anyone who has the passion for guitars combined with facination with the Beatles, will find Andy Babiuk's "Beatles Gear" the perfect remedy. It's the kind of book you can't put down. After you read it straight through, you'll find yourself constantly flipping it open at random to savor hundreds of inside information tidbits that will open your eyes to the inner workings of the Fab Four. But if that weren't enough, you'll get facinating information on a plethora of guitar models, amps, keyboards, drums and any other instrument that contributed to the variety of Beatle sounds. And the information you learn is applicable and valuable in today's market as well! For nostalgia, or for solid reference, this is a must have book.
Rating: Summary: Just what I have been waiting for! Review: As a lifetime Beatles fan and a amateur musician I have always wished for a definitive study of their instruments and equipment. This book is more then I hoped for. As another reviewer has stated, coupled with Recording Sessions, you have one of the most thorough studies of any artists at their craft ever done. This book is not just for musicians or techies either. It is one of the more interesting and accurate accounts of Beatlemania next to their own anthology. A far more interesting read then most of the "quick for profit" pulp that has come along over the years after the Beatles have had one of their many resurgences in popularity with each new generation.
