Rating: Summary: And Now The Facts......Please No Spin! Review: This is a great book to read if you don't have the time to check into all the lies that O'Reilly and people like him (on both sides of the political landscape) have stated as fact. There are too many people with the power to say whatever they want and expect the public masses to simply believe them. When the conservatives started taking to the airways (and cable and the internet) I hoped that with a more level playing field more truth would be exposed. Instead these so called 'fair and balanced' programs are no better than the so called 'liberal media'. It's hard to find someone who doesn't have a motive for their position(s). Reading this book should help you discover what to look for when you want the truth. It may also make you realize how many liars there are on both sides (media, public servants). Just don't let these people think for you. If you have the time, check into what you're being told. Get answers to your questions not just 'fluff'. As one TV show appropriately says "It's your money". Buy this book, well spent money. It will also help steer you from many money mistakes. There is truth, you just can't let it be covered up.
Rating: Summary: Great, Great Book! Review: This is an excellent book. We have only begun to learn of the lies and contradictions that Bill O'Reilly has stated. This book really puts into light what Bill is about. He is a complete liar, and is terrible for this country. Good book!!
Rating: Summary: Bill O'riely is a sick man. Review: What is even more upsetting, is that when diehard fans of guys like he, and Limbaugh, are presented with hard core facts exposing their heroes as the phoneys that they are, the right wingers simply dismiss them with their favorite labels. If someone is critical of Limbaugh, Hannity, or Billy Boy, they must be a "Liberal." As if that alone refutes all arguments. Should liberals dismiss all of the crap written over the years about Bill Clinton simply because his attackers are "Neo-cons?" Or to put it mildly, right wing whackos? FAIR, the publishers of this book, bash politicians on both sides of the isle. As we speak there is a critical article from FIAR on their web site about Wesley Clark. FAIR is fair. This is a great book in the form of "The Way Things Aren't, Rush Limbaugh's Reign of Error." What really cracks me up about O'rielly is his constant claim that he is NOT a right winger!
Rating: Summary: Worthwhile, but written for one audience Review: With or without spin, Bill O'reilly is a liar. This is a bad trait in any person, it's a despicable and disgraceful trait in someone claiming to deliver the news. The value of this book is that it has a great section, about fifty pages, revealing O'Reilly's intentionally inaccurate "facts". Unfortunately the book is 150 pages in length. The author, Peter Hart, and the supporting organization, Fairness & Accuracy in Reporting, come to close to fulfilling everything that they despise about O'reilly. I suppose that "fairness & accuracy" isn't claiming to be a "no spin zone", but after the first twenty pages I was so tired of having their opinions repeated, ranted, restated and shoved down my throat that I almost set the book down. If it weren't for the sheer quantity of O'reilly's inaccuracy, we'd have to question the honesty of our authors; fortunately, we do not. I had to read 100 pages of crap; fortunately you do not. That's my reason for three stars, but for the price-the book is worth buying.
