Summary: Books like this are why people have turned to slots.
Review: Scoblete's new book depicts the real world of dice influencing about as accurately as Hogan's Heroes depicted life in a World War II German POW camp.

My full review of this book is on my web site.

Summary: Awesome Book!
Review: I haven't read a book that was this great in years. I was rivetted by the writer's style and his stories are just eye-opping. This book reads like a great novel and I was just awed by the fact that these people are actually in the casinos and playing. A must read for anyone who wishes they could win millions from the casinos!

Summary: TERRIFIC BOOK
Review: This book was exciting, interesting, entertaining and gave me a behind the scenes look at some of the greatest casino advantage players in the world. Scoblete is a magnificent writer at the top of his game both in the casinos and on the pages of this book. This is not a how to book but a what happens when you are gifted and work hard to achieve a goal book. You don't even have to like casino gambling to read this book because it reads like a great novel. What really makes it better than most novels is that it is all true. When you are finished reading this book you have new respect for the skill of some players and the great writing talent of the author.

Summary: Great Stocking Stuffer for the Craps Lover!
Review: I just finished it and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Frank Scoblete is a very good storyteller and his book is a blending of compelling stories and fascinating characters. I know that the premise is how "...dice controllers are winning millions from the casino", but, since I don't believe that is possible, I read this book with skepticism. Now, having finished it I am glad I read it - not because of the GTC stuff, but because it is a great story about a game that I enjoy playing.

In some ways it reminded me of the chapter in Ed Silberstang's book "Winning Casino Craps" entitled "A Dice Story" where he writes about helping a rich guy play the game correctly. That was the first craps book I ever read (and one I also recommend highly) and that chapter was a masterful tale of a great night in that author's career. The same is true for Scoblete's work.

There's a bit more in this book however. Frank talks in several parts about his upbringing, about his family, friends, his NY neighborhood, etc. He does this as part of his story relating to a philosophy of life - or at least his philosophy of playing. I found that to be refreshing - I felt as though this is a guy that I'd like to sit down with and have a drink and discuss the game of craps. Having read a number of books on craps I have never read an author who attempts to relate his philosophy of life to his philosophy of playing this game. When Frank does it seems truly sincere -- almost poignant.

As far as I am concerned, each of the characters in this book could be purely fictional and yet would remain multi-dimensional, larger-than-life, and completely fascinating. If you like the game of craps and enjoy a good storyteller at the height of his craft, ask Santa for a copy!

Summary: The Roll of a Lifetime
Review: This book is a treat. The author, Frank Scoblete, explores the world of the greatest dice controllers playing in the casinos in the last 25 years, himself included. It is a treat to read about all these great characters who have the ability to beat the game of craps.

The book is non-stop action and adventure. It is very funny and well written. You will find that most of the great dice controllers are men but that the greatest of all time was a woman known as the Arm. She was partners with the Captain, who taught Scoblete everything he knows about craps.

The other great personalities are the Lee Brothers, two men who make their sole living playing craps, with their group of five other professionals. I also enjoyed the story of the A&E Television special where Dominator, Sharpshooter and Scoblete took on the casinos for real money in front of real cameras. They won big.

The Craps Underground is not just for craps players because the book is not a how-to. It is truly a great adventure story. Scoblete shares with us the highs and lows of his gambling career and his personal life. He dicusses his great love for his beautiful wife, A.P. and his respect for all the great shooters who have practiced endless hours to get the skill to beat the house.

This book should be on everyone's must read list. I got it as a present for my 40th birthday and I enjoyed every second reading it.

Summary: Interesting Read
Review: I enjoy playing craps, and I really enjoyed reading about the most incredible gamblers of all time. These stories are unbelievable; these people winning millions from the casinos? ... It's shocking! The fact that these stories are true makes it surreal - simply fascinating. I urge you to read this book - you'll simply love it!

Summary: Special Book About Special People
Review: This book serves up a helping of joy as we travel with the greatest casino players, dice controllers, as they take on the casinos in the game of craps. Thought to be an unbeatable game because of the math, the dice controllers are able to overcome the odds by their soft throws.

The book opens with Frank Scoblete's meetings with the Captain of craps, the greatest craps player of all time, and his great sessions with the amazing Arm, a woman who is considered by Frank to be the greatest dice controller in history. Frank takes us on a journey into the world of today's great Golden Touchers, those craps players who have mastered the elements of the controlled throw. You'll meet Dominator, the Lee Brothers, Howard Rock n Roller Newman, Mr. Finesse. You will go behind the scenes of the A&E television special where six dice controllers attempt to beat the casinos at craps while being filmed. In fact, Scoblete, Dominator and Sharpshooter actually beat the casinos on the tube!

Scoblete brings us to the tables with the phenomenal Lee brothers, two professionals who play almost every day somewhere in the country. They lead a team of five players who play for large sums of money.

This book also has an extraordinary Las Vegas Diary at the end, where Frank Scoblete takes us on one of his extended trips to Las Vegas. You'll experience his ups and downs and observations about the people he plays with. This book is exciting and fun. It is superbly written by a great writer.

Summary: Characters Jump Off the Page
Review: Some writers have the ability to write about characters and those characters spring to life in the readers' minds. That's Mr. Scoblete, the author of this book. His characters are the greatest craps players in the world and he writes about them in such a way that you feel you know them.

Scoblete takes us on the adventures he had with these great craps players. I especially loved the Lee Brothers and Scoblete's chapters about the television confrontation with the casinos. Can you imagine the guts to play craps with the television cameras in your face, playing for real money, and beating the casinos? Well, Scoblete, Dominator and Sharpshooter did that very thing. It was amazing.

There are some very funny scenes and chapters in the book and even a cautionary chapter about players who might think they have talent but don't. Scoblete lays it on the line.

His closing chapter, a three week Las Vegas diary, is worth the price of the book just by itself. It's a masterpiece by a great writer. I think anyone interested in seeing the good players beat the casinos will want to read this book.

Summary: Pssst, buddy ... have I got a deal for you.
Review: [...]

There are a lot good gambling books available. This isn't one of them. The notions that you can beat house games by betting in some special way or that you can "control the dice" are bad jokes. Books that purport to teach you these tricks are, in my opinion, outright scams. Books like this are for chumps.

Summary: Great Book! Get it for your gambling friends for Christmas!
Review: I bought this book because I saw an article writen by Scoblete in Casino Player. I wanted to read more about the craps players like Dominator, and the Lee Brothers, and all the others. I saw the BJ show about the MIT people and really wanted to read about craps players doing the same thing to the casinos.

This is not a how to book on dice controll, but the story of these guys beating the casinos thru skill and knowledge of the game. A great book that shows that craps is a game that can be beaten.

I did some research and found that some of the negative reviews came from websites that are competitors of Golden Touch Craps, Scoblete's company. My how petty!
