Summary: Wonderful Book
Review: I just couldn't put this book down. It had so many thrills and inside stories. The book is not a how to but a what happens when you know how to. I recommend it highly.

Summary: I'll never trust amazon reviews again
Review: I had read the good reviews this book received here on amazon so when I saw this book in the local store, I picked it up. After reading it, here are some words and phrases that come to mind.

Nonsense
Self-puffery
Uninteresting characters
Writing style is laughably juvenile

I don't know what those other reviewers were smoking, but all I can say is I'll never trust amazon reviews again. This is a stinker.

Summary: Great book!
Review: The only reason I didn't give this book 5 stars was simply it wasn't quite what I thought it was going to be about. It's mostly about the formation of, and the whole book is a plug for, the Golden Touch Craps guys. That's not a bad thing though. I know Scobe truly believes in GTC and loves craps himself. (I in fact am scheduled to take one of their upcoming two day seminars and am very much looking forward to it.) I have read virtually all of, if not all of, his books and loved all of them (except the Bold Card Play book but that's a whole other story). If you are into craps and controlled dice throwing, you must have on your shelf the other craps books by Frank Scoblete, which talk about the Captain and the 5-count, as well as Sharpshooter's book. I do and have found them all revolutionary in how I look at the game of craps. It's the same revolution I had when I read my first card counting book or when I finally got Laurance Scott's materials on roulette. The casinos can be beaten! It's hard and a lot of work, but by God it can be done, and Frank Scoblete's books will take you through the first steps and show you how to get there. You know what, I'm changing my 4 stars to five stars so you all reading this might be confused as to why I said I didn't give it five up above.

Summary: The Craps Underground
Review: I have to say I enjoyed reading Franks book, as i have enjoyed reading all of his books. Frank Scoblete is a great writer. The Craps Underground is a Diary of sorts..In the back he writes about a Las Vegas Trip and does a day by day report that will have you there with him.

Frank writes about many different people (I am one of them) I know most of the people that are in the book and have play craps with many of them.....They are some of the most consistant shooters i have ever seen. But besides that they are also some of the nicest and kindest people i have met.

This group plays and teaches......Frank Writes, Teaches and Plays. I know he plays Both Craps and Blackjack. I can say that i have seen him shoot the dice on more than one occasion and if you enjoy his reading and think he is a great writer, Well he is the same person in person as he is in his books. He is funny to be around and a wealth of information. He is one of the best dice shooters that i have ever seen.

I was Honered and Humbled to be included with the people that he writes about and the storys he tells..........If you read this book i am certain you will enjoy it and learn a little along the way.

Someone mentioned in an earlyer review that they take this book and its character as Fiction. The book is more factualy than most know and many want to know.

Enjoy the read and anjoy the ride.
Thanks for reading
Don

Summary: Uh oh.....casinos are starting to catch on
Review: I think that compared to five years ago there are a lot more controlled rollers out there operating in the vegas area. I am an up and coming controlled roller myself and am currently practicing my craft at home and on practice tables per instruction of Sharpshooter's book.
Casinos have gotta be catching on to this. Using a gellehorn progression with double odds with a good rolls to seven ratio can really hurt them and I think a lot of casinos in vegas are getting hip to this. The result? More of them are sweating people who have conrolled gentle throws hitting the same spot everytime, especially when you are holding the dice for a while using a careful set.
I hope this does not make it impossible for controlled rollers to operate. The casinos could instruct you to throw in a haphazard chicken feed manner with force so the dice hit the back wall hard: If they see you rolling the same way every time in a controlled manner, they could instruct you to pass the dice immediatly and skip you the next time around. Can they do that? Oh yes they can if they think their bankroll is threatened. That would make my craft and many others suddenly obsolete.
Other than that, good book, great stories from the road. Controlled dice rolling is a fact, I just hope when I am ready I still have an arena to practice my craft.

Summary: The Colorful Characters of Craps
Review: Craps is a game that provides a writer with a lifetime worth of material. That's part of the lore of the game. This book has that in spades. Frank has been around the craps tables for many years and knows the topic inside and out. While this book is not a "How TO Play Craps" book, it will introduce you to some of the 'Movers and Shakers" at the tables today. I have known Frank for many years. I've played craps with him and with most of the people named in this book. They are the real deal and Frank's writing brings them to you. Who knows, you may have already been at the tables with some of them. Read and enjoy this book. You won't go wrong!

Summary: This Book Takes you There!
Review: I Was There, This Book Takes YOU There!

First let me say that I am one of the many dice controllers that Frank Scoblete writes about in his exciting new book, The Craps Underground. In craps circles I am known as The Dominator. Although the book certainly is not about me, I appear in a number of chapters. I was involved in the creation of Golden Touch Craps, the A&E television special, and the Las Vegas Diary. I was anxiously awaiting the publication of this book because Frank would not let me see anything except the Diary section, excerpts of which he published on the members-only website of The Craps Club.

When I read the book I was amazed at how accurate and on the money Frank was concerning all the events I was personally involved in. His writing is so crisp and clear, so full of rich detail that I actually felt I was reliving those adventures as I read the book. The A&E special takes you behind the scenes as six dice controllers try to beat the casinos. Point for point Scoblete captured the personalities, performances and conflicts that occurred during the two days we taped our particular segment of the show. Having a tape of the entire two days in my possession, almost all of which never made it to the 25-minute segment that aired, and comparing it to what Frank wrote is an amazing exercise. Frank nailed down conversations and events with a precision that is nothing short of uncanny. (I actually think he had a tape recorder on him at all times, because he got the slightest inflections down pat.) And what exciting events they were! I know that readers will enjoy being there with us as we try to win with the cameras rolling and the pressure building.

But that is only one chapter of a 20-chapter book. Frank goes into great detail concerning his early meetings and playing sessions with the Captain, the greatest craps player (in my opinion) of all time. The Captain's intelligence, flair and savvy come through brilliantly. We also meet the woman known as "The Arm" - the person Frank thinks is the greatest controlled shooter he has ever seen - and he's seen just about everyone of any worth. Her story is at once awe inspiring and tragic.

The Lee Brothers, and their eccentric team of pros composed of Vixen, Lola, and Whale take up several chapters in the book. To Frank and my knowledge they are the only professional team that is making millions on a yearly basis playing craps all over the country - using legal, non-cheating methods! They are a scream.

You will meet all the greatest dice controllers in the world; the people who have walked the walk, not just talked the talk, in the presence of witnesses. Frank's greatest rolls in the book all come with many observers. He has paid meticulous attention to detail and truth. There are no exaggerations. When Frank won, he wrote honestly about it. When he lost, he wrote just as honestly about it. The ups and downs in the book make the ride a roller coaster, an exciting thrill ride for the reader.

Frank has been the most popular gambling writer for many years and part of that has to do with his great ability to write not just about strategies but about people and events. This book is Frank Scoblete at his people and events best.

Read it ASAP and go on the great adventure with him!

Summary: I hope the Casinos don't react to this book
Review: Interesting story of a gambling world and how some people do things differently. I just hope that the casinos don't react to this book in the same way they did to Thorpe's first book on card counting in Blackjack.

When I first stared playing craps I stopped by Gambling Book Store in Las Vegas and asked the sales person, who turned out to be one of the owners, what book he recommended an why.

He recommended a book by Sam Grafstein and said he recommended it bacause he played the game, not just wrote about it.

It is apparent that Frank plays the game and Frank's writing about craps is a lot easier to read than Sam's was.

A good gift for anyone who plays craps, including yourself.

Summary: Insightful tale of the best of the best
Review: Frank Scoblete has written a new kind of gambling book, one that explores the characters behind the great adventures. Scoblete interacts with the greatest dice controllers of all time, starting with the Captain and the Arm, two legends of the craps world, and moving in time to the NEW CREW of Dominator and the golden Touch Crew of Howard Newman, and others. Their stories are fascinating and exciting. The greatest team of craps players, however, are the amazing Lee Brothers, two men who head up a rather eccentric team that tours the country winning millions. This book should be read by anyone interested in having a great reading experience in the gambling towns of the United States.

Summary: The Ultimate Real Life Adventure
Review: This is the story of the pioneers of craps! These guys are just amazing and you won't be disappointed when you read the book if you want to go along on the adventure of beating the casinos at their own games using a perfectly legal method known as dice control. Scoblete is a great writer and this is a great book.
