Summary: Arnold Governs, But Borowitz Rules!
Review: Arnold Schwarzenegger won the recall election, but GOVERNOR ARNOLD wins my vote for funniest book of 2004 (I know it's only January, but it's going to take a real upset to come up with a funnier book than this). Andy Borowitz leads us through a hilarious photo history of Governor Arnold's first 100 days in Sacramento, using screamingly funny photos from his movies and equally side-splitting captions. This book is a MUST-BUY for anyone who needs a good laugh, and everyone who lives in California...

Summary: Arnold Rocks!
Review: Good political humorists write in such a way that readers will laugh, irrespective of their political affiliation. Michael Moore and PJ O'Rourke are examples of such writers. Unfortunately, Borowitz lacks the tact, wit, and sense of humor to write true political satire. His attempts at humor usually elicit groans unless you already agree with his shrill left-wing point of view, in which case you're only reading to reinforce your narrow point of view. Borowitz's humor is neither intelligent nor thought-provoking. If the book actually zeroed in on the Governor's shortcomings rather than reduce him to the simple-minded stereotypes that are common among the intellectually uninitiated Left, he might have actually had some fodder for political humor. The book is boring- a waste of time and money.

Summary: Borowitz at his best
Review: I am a HUGE fan of Andy Borowitz from hs work in The New Yorker and also his website. Governor Arnold is a must-have for Borowitz fans. It's typical of his work - side-splittingly hilarious AND concise. It's a quick read, to be sure, but you'll read it again and again. (PS - I don't think Arnold has ever looked in better shape!!!)

Summary: Terminates the Terminator
Review: I am still gasping for air after laughing my way through this unbelievably funny book. It's such a brilliant and simple idea - dig up hilarious photos of Arnold Schwarzenegger and use them to illutstrate the "real" story of his first 100 days in office. The captions are even funnier than the pictures, and the whole package is a work of (somewhat sick) genius! Looking forward to the photodiary of his second hundred days.

Summary: Arnold Rocks!
Review: I have never laughed so hard at a book - the photo of Governor Arnold introducing "Casual Fridays" to Sacramento is worth the price alone! An unbelievably inspired concept, perfectly executed. Two thumbs way up.

Summary: Arnold As You Have Never Seen Him Before
Review: I have no idea where they found these pictures of our Governor, but they truly have to be seen to be believed. (I don't think even Maria Shriver has seen him like this.) The captions made me laugh out loud! This is the perfect book for anyone who wants to get their mind off their troubles and get a good, long belly-laugh. It hits the bullseye.

Summary: You Don't Have To Be a Democrat
Review: I have voted Republican my entire life, and even voted for Arnold, which is why my brother gave me this book (to poke fun at me). Well, I laughed and laughed and I have given it to many of my Republican friends. The combination of the funny pictures (especially the Conan era ones) and the captions is irresistible.

Summary: Very, Very Funny
Review: Next time Arnold Schwarzenegger gives one of his oh-so-serious speeches about the California state budget, it will be very gard to keep a straight face, because all I will be thinking of is the pictures in "Governor Arnold." This is a very, very funny book that is also top-notch political satire. For those of us who read and enjoy Al Franken, Michael Moore, David Sedaris and Sarah Vowell. A must-buy!
