Rating: Summary: Funniest thing since the Girlfriend's guide! A must read Review: I couldn't wait for this book to be released. I loved every funny word of it!! I laughed out loud all of the way through and even though I am not currently pregnant it was great! I am passing it on to the all of the preggos I know.
Rating: Summary: My Wife LOVES Jenny's book Review: I bought this book for my wife and she really loved it. She thought is was so good and so truthful! She actually talked ME into reading it. My wife's right, it was hilarious and O so real life. I remember my wife going through a lot of what's in the book. Great job Jenny, you tell it like it is.
Rating: Summary: 8.75 months pregnant - and really needed this Review: I saw Jenny McCarthy on a talk show yesterday and bought the book after my doctor's appointment later in the day. My doctor told me that I am "ripe" so I thought I deserved it. On the talk show - JM said she reads these comments - so I wanted to make sure I forwarded my message.I am 8.75 months pregnant and I am SO sick of the blah-blah-blah advice and overreaction of most pregnancy books that are available. I decided to truly entertain myself for a couple of days before my little bugger enters the world. JM - Thanks for writing a great book to take my mind away from the nervousness of expecting. Your sense of humor is hilarious - I could only imagine how funny it would be to chat with you over coffee or cocktails! Thanks!
Rating: Summary: WONDERFUL Review: After reading the other reviews I knew I had to have this book. I have always been a fan of Jenny McCarthy and I was curious as to how she would be at writing. I am so glad I bought this book. This is honestly one of the best books I have ever bought. I am 31 weeks pregnant and I laughed so hard I thought I would send my self into early labor. Yes she is crude at times and the language is a little vulgar, but hey...she's just being honest. I recommend this book to every pregnant woman. While being pregnant, especially in the last couple months when you are miserable, it is nice to laugh and feel like you are not alone. There are so many things Jenny talks about in this book that happened to me that my mother never told me, and here I thought I was just a weirdo. This is a MUST READ! It was wonderful!!
Rating: Summary: Funny, Gross & Honest Review: I'm not a big Jenny McCarthy TV show fan, but this sure is one funny book. I have 3 kids and there are only one or two girlfriends I can discuss the more disgusting and personal parts of being pregnant, and now Jenny has opened the door and made it a public discussion. Good gift for a young or nervous mom-to-be. If you want a book about what happens after you have kids, buy "I Sleep At Red Lights: A True Story of Life After Triplets," by Bruce Stockler. A Daddy's hilarious story of staying up all night, changing diapers, cleaning up puke--and finding out that being a Dad is the greatest job in the world. (He also shows how how hard it is to be married--very funny.)
Rating: Summary: THANK YOU JENNY! THIS BOOK IS GREAT! Review: My name is Matt, My wife and I are going to have a babby soon. So I bought this book hoping it would make my Wife Smile. IT did more then that! WE both have a new out look on pregnancy, Yes it's hard but it's FUNNY TOO!! I leaned a lot my self. I'm going to get this book for all my buddys so thay can be better men/daddy's for years to come. It's about time a book like this was in print! I can't wait to see what Jenny McCarthy writes next!
Rating: Summary: Jenny McCarthy Is So Funny!!!!!!! This Book Rocks Review: I am about to become a new mom and just finished reading Jenny McCarthy's book "Belly Laughs" and I couldn't agree with her more. She is going to give new mom's-to-be a heads up on what an unbelievable and humourous experience pregancy can be. Kudos to you Jen on "Telling It Like It Is".
Rating: Summary: GREAT Book Too Funny!!!! Review: I'm pregnant with my second and could totally relate. I got the book the day it came out and read it that day. I couldn't stop laughing when she spoke of her memory lose and drove by her house. Everyone can use a good laugh once and a while. I would love to see a follow up! You go girl.
Rating: Summary: A Must Read Book For Any Pregnant Woman Review: I heard about this book from the Sharon Osborne show, searched everywhere, looking for a Jenny Mc Carthy website to find out how I could get the book, but found nothing. I even e-mailed Sharon Osborne! But no response:( Finally I found out the release date and counted down the days to get it on opening day. Let me tell you, I was the first to get this book in my town. I have read all the pregnancy books there is, but this one is the best. Being a young mother-to-be, it is helping to show me "how it really is going to be." Everything that she went through, I went through and am going through to a "T." I absolutely love this book and HIGHLY recomend it to people who aren't afraid to hear it how it is, not some technical terms. Hey, we're all not doctors, so why read all the other books that have technical terms and sugar-coat pregnancy? I can't express through words how this book has helped me along the way so far, and I guarentee it will help you; by making you literally laugh out loud crying because your cheeks hurt from laughing so hard. It will bring laughter to your stressed-out, mood-swinging, grumpy all the time self. I can't say enough about this book. It is my pregnancy bible, and I am so glad it came out before I'm due to have my son (May 18th!) So, GO GET THIS BOOK! YOU WON'T REGRET IT! IT IS WORTH EVERY PENNY! And thankyou Jenny Mc Carthy for writing the best pregnancy book EVER! Oh, and to the people who find this book offensive or disrespectful: It is the 21st century, and if your not comfortable with your body and are too afraid to talk about it, then yeah your right this book isn't for you. But I must add that she wrote this to tell you how it is, being very blunt, and not beating around the bush. This is how she is and if you can't handle the truth, then you're right, don't buy it.
Rating: Summary: Not for everyone -- kind of rude, disrespectful Review: Unless you are into the really crude kind of humor that passes for entertainment on late-night TV, you will be offended by this book. The book is quite explicit at times, and the jokes are more reminiscent of the kind of humor you'd expect from a group of adolescent boys obsessed with certain body parts than a woman expecting a baby. I'm sure some women will enjoy this book, but personally I found it offensive and disrespectful to pregnancy and motherhood. So buyer beware.
