Rating: 5 stars
Summary: This book was laugh-out-loud funny, but serious, too.
Review: This book was really great. I called up my 29-and-counting friends and read passages out loud to them. The perfect gift for anyone who wants to turn 30 with grace and wit.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: "Chicks" a Glib Look at 30
Review: Though I appreciate what she's trying to accomplish (make women feel better about turning 30), Tilsner's book is a turn-off. The author's "wacky" tone is SO present as to offend. This book is for a small sliver of women in the US -- the "popular crowd." Her advice? Better get a man, an SUV, and a facelift ASAP. Don't bother with this surface fluff.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Humorous, but insubstantial
Review: Tilsner's book gave me a few good chuckles, but there's not much substance to it. It left me with the feeling of "Is that all?" Although I'm definitely a member of Tilsner's generation, and can identify with her humor, I was turned off by Tilsner's constant references to her friends and herself. She even plugs a friend's website in the book--a gesture I found somewhat unsavory. If you're looking for something thoughtful and informative, this book isn't it. But, if you're looking for humor and "lite" writing, you'll enjoy it.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: I have my list of things to do even after I turn 30!
Review: Tilsner's book is a scream. It's short on substance but it doesn't pretend to be anything more. She packs up all this woman "baggage" into a little neat overnight bag. So it makes for a great read when a normally confident woman suddenly needs a quick fix of self-help. So here I am 2 years short of 30 and I have this list screaming with all these wonderful things that I want to do even after I'm way past 30 and this feels really good.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: entertaining and poignant - 30 does not = expiration date!
Review: What this book isn't: 1) something you would take seriously. 2) something to consult if you are a selfhelp fan. 3) something you won't get if you never moved out of your parents' house.

Turning 30 for me was a breeze; it was 31 that freaked me out. As a chronic bargainer (Chapter 3), experiencing the joys of our current economy (Chapter 7), I personally enjoyed this book. I think it's wry, witty, has a touch of Ab-Fab to it, and made me want to have a drink and read it in the tub.

If you are closer in your level of seriousness to some of the reviewers here, don't buy this book. Otherwise, kick back and enjoy the read!
