Rating: Summary: The Best All Purpose Book on the Market Review: Not only are the strategies in this book superior but the stories and experiences of the author are first rate. Frank Scoblete deserves his reputation as America's greatest gambling writer. This book alone is proof!
Rating: Summary: Top of the Line Review: Just finished reading this book and it is the top of the line. I liked the way the author was able to integrate his own experiences into the book. That made it far less dry than all the other gambling books I've read. The man is a good writer and I really like the concept of "guerrilla" startegies.
Rating: Summary: Best General Gambling Book Review: If you want to take a college course that introduces you to what you need to know for a wide field, you'd want a teacher who was lively, funny, and above all knowledgable. That's Frank Scoblete. This book is just awesome.
Rating: Summary: Knowledge is the best weapon Review: I like this book because it really lays out a coherent plan against just about all the games. It is also very much fun to read. The writer is very knowledgable and has great stories of his experiences in the casinos.
Rating: Summary: Excellent book and fun to read Review: I just received this and another book by Frank Scoblete as a present from my inlaws who know I like to gamble in casinos. This book was just great. I read it from cover to cover in just two nights. I loved his writing style and the strategies were top-notch.
Rating: Summary: A Great Book Review: I highly recommend this book and Frank's new book The Craps Underground: The Inside Story of How Dice Controllers Are Winning Millions from the Casinos!
Rating: Summary: Will pay for itself after one trip to Vegas... Review: This is the first gambling book I ever purchased, and it paid for itself after one trip to Las Vegas. There was a variety of games I wanted to play (blackjack, craps, video poker, etc) and Scoblete's book provided a solid strategy for each game. The blackjack section alone saved me enough in my first hour of gambling to pay for the book and a few tips.
Rating: Summary: good overview, great references Review: Good book, especially someone new to gambling. The section on blackjack is by far the best; the section on poker the worst. HOWEVER, the book price is worth the many many annotated references or reading lists he provides for every game. He not only lists what he feels are best books (and where to buy them, and price) but also gives details as to the strong and weak points.
Rating: Summary: Absolutely, Positively, the VERY Best Review: This book has everything. All the most important games are covered and the writing style is just terrific. Scoblete makes learning fun and I loved his stories about his adventures in the casinos.
Rating: Summary: Great book but still lacking in some areas Review: Unadmittably, Frank Scoblete is a great writer, especially in the field of gambling. His style of writing is clearcut and to the point, and he does have a great sense of humour sometimes. Overall, the techniques in the book are great to use on your next casino trip. However, I find that the section on Craps was a bit hard to understand and digest. It would have been easier if there were more illustrations to get the point across. After reading that section, I'm still a bit confused over some parts of the game. But nevertheless, you can't really expect so much from a book that touched on so many games that you can tackle easily in a casino. This is a great book for any beginners. I would have given 4.5 stars if I could (due the craps section), but there's no 'half star', so I would have to give this book a '4 stars' rating. But I do hope you enjoy this book as much as I do.
