Review: If Dave Barry says a book is funny, I'm not going to argue--especially when the book made me laugh on every page. There's material here they could have taken straight out of my living room--except me and my lady ain't quite as amusing. But the writers here offer a view on what we all do without knowing why we do it. If we want to make our communication with the so-called opposite sex better, it starts by not taking ourselves too damn seriously. Read the chapter on whether you are a man or a woman (it's a quiz!) and TRY not to laugh. Impossible. This book shows us how laughing together works.

Summary: Painfully Unfunny
Review: One of the most tired subjects in comedy is that old chestnut, "the difference between men and women," which is absolutely beaten into the ground in this painfully unfunny book. The authors remind the reader of the sort of folks who think they're the funniest people in the office, but little suspect that everyone else flees when they seem them coming. I was given this book as a Christmas gift and couldn't make it past chapter two. Buyer beware.

Summary: hilarious and really,really smart
Review: saw them read the other night at a bookstore and laughed more than I have in a month. didn't know what to expect, exactly, but LOVE the book and am getting it for my girlfriends--the unattached ones so they can figure guys out and the married ones (like me!!) so they can still laugh--and remember that there are 2 sides to every story--and that ONE of those sides is really funny!

Review: The Gene/Gina columns have been keeping those of us who read the magazine section of the Sunday Washington Post laughing for two years. I'm delighted to see that there is, finally, a book. This is a real test of which is funnier--men or women! (I already know where I am betting my hardearned money............)

Review: The marketing people at Simon & Schuster should be fired. That this book is not yet on the NY Times Best-Seller List is a national disgrace.
This book is at once highly literate and laugh-out-loud funny. I woke my wife many times with fits of laughter. She did the same to me when she had the chance to read it - and we sleep in separate bedrooms!!
The authors put to rest the notion that feminists and the Washington Post do not have a sense of humor.Buy It - Read It and then tell all your friends. Help push Al Franken , Michael Moore and Bill O'Reilly of the Best-Seller List!! It's the right thing to do.

Review: There's nothing better than having your suspicions confirmed....that the other person in your relationship is often totally stupid. This book managed to do the impossible, make me laugh and think at the same time. Barreca and Weingarten have covered the essentials of why we just don't get it when he/she says they're just trying to make a point. I'm sending a copy to a former spouse in the hope it will finally prove that I was right!

Review: What a fabulous book! I've been reading the Gina/Gene columns monthly in the Washington Post magazine, and have been reading Gina's solo columns in the Hartford Courant for years. She's so brilliant and funny. Witty beyond belief. Buy this book! And then go and buy "Too Much of a Good Thing is Wonderful" "The Pengiun Book on Women's Humor" "They Used to Call me SNow White but I drifted" and the Soprano's books she has out. Hilarity on every page. You won't regret it!!

Summary: They'll be on CBS morning show Tues, Feb10!!!
Review: What makes this book extra funny and poignant is that the entire time they wrote this, they never met once. Everything was over the phone and via email. This book is a laugh a minute and very smart. It's NOT the "Men Women Mars Venus" crap!! It's witty and useful and just plain brilliant. I bought 5 copies and am taking them to the book sales in the upcoming weeks when the authors start on tour. It's sure to be a blast to go to the readings with these two. Thanks for a great book Gina and Gene
