Summary: That description makes people question Mr. Moore's sanity
Review: I will admit to not having fully read this book, however after having read the cover and description of the book I have to think Mr. Moore is living in a different world than the one we are. Which is great because that would have to make this more of a work of fiction. So rating this book as a work of fiction I would have to give it a star, the characters are not believable and the hero still has 400 unsold copies of his movie at my local Best Buy taking up space.

Summary: I'm smarter than this
Review: I read my uncles copy while visiting him last weekend. Although I am only 12, I can spot a mean spirited person a mile away. Where does he get off that getting rich in this country is impossible and that you might as well give up? I read up on Michael Moore. He's rich. He also doesn't have a very good reputation with former employees, is notoriously cheap, doesn't even tip etc. Just the kind of role model we need for this country. Plus all the 9/11 stuff? Oh brother. I have chosen this book for a book report. The assignment is to find a political themed book, present the contents, summarize and then give an opinion. I cannot give it my recommendation. Its just more inaccurate propaganda from this buy. I am sure many people will buy it and make him richer. What a hypocrite. He reminds me of all those foaming at the mouth conservatives talk show guys. He's just another self promoter getting rich off of movie and book deals. A gas bag. My best friend thinks he's a doofus.

Summary: Blinded By the Facts
Review: I begin by shouting "Thank heaven for Michael Moore." Are those reviewers giving him one star upset that he has exposed facts that implicate George Bush in what can only charitably be called misdeeds? Are they claiming Moore's information is false? If they grant him accuracy, how can they possibly defend Bush? The well documented evidence is overwhelming that Bush and his buddies have fooled the American People in a horrendous fashion.
The reader should suspend prior prejudice--a challenging task--and consider this book with an open mind. Moore lightens the tract with periodic humor, but considering the serious nature of War, deficits, tax policy, etc., it is truly black humor.
This is a "must read" for all Americans who still wonder how we have found ourselves in such serious straits.

Summary: Excellent book, raises disturbing questions
Review: Michael Moore once again raises questions that everyone needs to ask, like why is Bush covering up Saudi Arabian involvement in the 9-11 terrorist attacks while implicating Osama's enemy Saddam Hussein? The book is funny and anyone who enjoyed reading Stupid White Men will find this book to be excellent as well.

Summary: Let the evidence speak for itself
Review: I'm always amazed by conservatives who dismiss a book without even reading it. Don't be turned off by the cover. It's a shocking photo designed to grab your attention -- and that it does!

The real meat is in the pages, where Moore questions our leaders (God forbid we should ever follow the advice of our nation's founders!) and backs up his skepticism of their motives with solid research. In the first chapter alone, he provides 97 citations, from sources ranging from the Associated Press to the Wall Street Journal. This isn't some left-wing nut-case conspiracy theory backed up by a post some guy made on a discussion board citing an email he received in its thirty-third iteration about how Dubya planned the 9/11 attacks. Heck no!

The book simply poses some hard-nosed questions for our leaders about why we've never been told the WHOLE truth about 9/11 or almost anything having to do with "Homelad Security." Every American Patriot has the responsibility to question our leaders. That's what Michael Moore is saying, and that's what he's doing.

Summary: Dangerous stuff for Bush
Review: I received my copy of Dude Where's my Country yesterday and finished it today. First of all, the other reviews failed completely to address any problems with the book, they merely used ad hominim arguments. Moore's book is very well documented with all his sources explained. Besides why are people in the right wing (Michael Savage, Bill O'Reilly, the other posters) so mad if they control the white house, congress and most big companies? They're so pissed because they know most of the country disagrees with them which is why they try and use things such as patriotism to unite the USA, never actual issues.

Michael Moore has written yet another excellent book which is filled with well cited information and downright scary and angering findings. But at the same time, his material remains in reach to anyone, educated or not, he writes about politics and society on a very colloquial level without taking away from the subject.

When I send this book to my friend and the post office asks whether there are any dangerous items in the package. I will say YES

Summary: Another wake-up call from the King of Wake-Up Calls
Review: First and foremost - great book - should be required in every high school civics class. This book will most likely polarize a great number of Americans - for instance, those that believe that Mr. Bush can do no wrong will fight tooth and nail to preserve their peace and status quo in our current climate of fear (hence the negative reviews on this site), while others will use the truth to compel their feelings and tell others. Don't jus read this book -- read it and tell others -- but tell them to search the truth too -- they'll fing Mr. Moore - not Mr. Bush - is right.

Summary: Best book so far on this issue
Review: Moore discusses the ties between the Bin Laden family and the Bush family. In particular, he questions why the Bin Laden family was allowed to fly out of the country without answering any questions just after Sept. 11 when air space was restricted.
He is hard on corporations as usual, with plenty of new information, including something called "The Dead Peasants Tax" which should make anyone other than a CEO shudder. I can't for the life of me understand how anyone writing reviews on here can say that Moore "hates Christians." That is bizarre. In fact, this book was my favorite of the liberal press I have read lately because it gave me real and valuable ideas for how to take action to improve things. There is hope and humor and a genuine love for his country that he manages to convey. Highly recommended for open-minded and kind readers. Close-minded, hateful neo-cons should stay away. They will be offended.

Summary: A Real 'Man of the People'
Review: Michael Moore has paid his dues and established a level of credibility that is practically unmatchable.
Anyone who has been paying attention since his movie Roger and Me first appeared in cinemas and ordinary working class Americans got to see someone from their largely ignored ranks make an impact in the world of the beautiful people, will not be suprised at the amount of books he's selling.
I can think of no-one liberal and definitely not conservative who has made this kind of effort to connect with 'regular guys' and represent their thoughts and feelings to the world at large.
From a purely intellectual standpoint it would be easy to criticise the Message from God chapter and all the Mike's Militia stuff as self serving. But that would be to miss a singularly significant point - this is NOT a book for intellectuals.
This is a book that is aimed at those that Mike knows best - regular people! That's not to say this is not an intelligent book; mixed in with the populist language and the odd rant are a great many well researched and challenging facts as well as some well framed and pointed questions.
Michael Moore's gift is in creating humorous easily digestible vehicles for important information, which frankly would have little hope of being accessed otherwise. This is a book that you can read in a day but will give you something to think about for many months to come. Buy it, give it to friends and family for Christmas and don't leave out that conservative brother-in-law.

Summary: Wonderful WONDERFUL
Review: Michael Moore's book was wonderful, certainly up there with Stupid White Men. This is a must buy! Everyone needs to have this book on their bookshelf! This review isn't meant to be helpful, however. I believe those who came before me said it just as well as I could. However, I do have a message.

Oh, and as for the bad reviews, on a very personal note, I'm sure they are just in denial. Especially this tonyro76, who claims to be a christian and yet jugdes Michael Moore by his weight! Judge not lest ye be judged. That's Ad Hominum fallacy if I've ever seen it. So I'm using it back at you. And the part about France is ethnocentric and racist. To people who want theocratic goverments, I highly recommend that you DON'T read Michael Moore's book. I can assure you that Michael Moore does not approve of theocracy.
