Summary: Great Book
Review: This is an Awesome fake book. There are so many songs in here I am having trouble Narrowing down the ones I want to arrange. If you're looking for songs all of a specific genre I recommend you buy a specialized fake book; but if you are looking for a sampling of songs over a variety of genres, this book has the best from all of them!

Summary: Great Collection!
Review: This is the first Fake Book I have ever owned. I have been using it almost daily for 9 months with my Hammond Organ, and I have been able to get some pretty amazing sounds for a beginning keyboardist. It includes a great variety of tunes, and I am continuing to discover new ones every day, it seems. Lots of show tunes and older tunes, but I am left wanting a few more pop/rock titles so I am ordering "Best Fake Book Ever" next. There truly are a LOT of songs, though, and I have to say it is a great book to have!!

Summary: useful and fun
Review: Twelve hundred songs is not so many songs that you can expect of find all your favorites, but this is a very useful book to have around for gigging, for sight-singing, for studying the history of popular music, and--most important--for fun.

Also recommended: PENTATONIC SCALES FOR THE JAZZ-ROCK KEYBOARDIST by Jeff Burns.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Good resource book, but not a primary source for songs.
Review: With 1200 songs you would imagine this has got to have it all. That's what I thought. Because it tries to be all songs for all people, it winds up having (for me) very few songs of interest. I returned it and am buying more individual artist/subject song books. Buy it to have on the shelf as a resource book, but you might be better off paying less for easier to handle and read song books.

Summary: Quality, not quantity!
Review: Would I have purchased this book, had I the opportunity to examine it? No. The print is too small. Some songs are incomplete. e.g. Gigi. I suggest fewer songs, much better choice and original size print.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Very Good
Review: You will not be able to find every tune you want but this book has the majority of them
