Rating: Summary: Crazy Plates and Looney Spoons are my Favorite Cookbooks! Review: I'm always on the look out for good healthy cookbooks that aren't low-carb, or no fat, just healthy lite recipes. These 2 cookbooks fit the bill. They are wonderful! The recipes are full of flavor, and most fairly quick too make using everyday ingredients. I own a lot of cookbooks, and these 2 have quickly become my family's favorite! I highly recommend them.

Rating: Summary: The cookbook I always go to Review: I'm always on the lookout for lowfat recipe books that actually break down the fat/calories/fiber numbers. This one does that, and more! It's entertaining to read, and the recipies I've tried are yummy and relatively easy to make.
Rating: Summary: Very fun! Review: I'm always on the lookout for lowfat recipe books that actually break down the fat/calories/fiber numbers. This one does that, and more! It's entertaining to read, and the recipies I've tried are yummy and relatively easy to make.
Rating: Summary: Great recipes, Great fun! Review: If I had a list of my top ten favorite cookbooks, this would be one of them! I often find myself flipping through this book just for the wonderful cartoons and all of the interesting facts included! Not to mention the recipes are really great! I don't want to seem too enthusiastic, but if you love cooking and trying new ideas out, you HAVE to buy this book!!
Rating: Summary: Low-fat cooking for the mindless Review: It really isn't surprising that the authors of this book come from the dullest, most conservative, least adventurous area of Southern Ontario. This is a cookbook for the Top 40 radio listener. This is a cookbook for the person who finds Taco Bell food pretty spicy stuff. This is a cookbook for someone who thinks Family Circus is the last word in humour. I hate it. The recipes are boring, underspiced, and aimed at the lowest common denominator of taste. Come on! Live a little, people. It won't kill you to add more than half a teaspoon of chili some day! As if that wasn't enough, the recipes have supposed-to-be-funny punning titles (if "Forrest Gumbo" is your idea of amusing, this book will crease you). There are annoying, ugly cartoons scattered about at random; the book is full of "helpful facts" of mostly-dubious value; the layout is poor; and they use some of my least favourite fonts. I have a lot of low-fat cookbooks. This has got to be the most annoying of the lot. Even if the recipes were good, which most of them aren't without a lot of additions, I don't think I could stand to use them much.
Rating: Summary: Thanks for your great reviews! Review: It's always exciting to click on Amazon. com and read the reviews section. My sister and I are glad that so many people are enjoying Crazy Plates. It was a hoot to write! Just a note with regard to one reader's comment that "most of the recipes contain 30% calories from fat." Only 10 out of 150 recipes get 30% of their calories from fat--that's about 7%. Ninety-three percent of the recipes contain less that 30%. I hope all of you keep on cooking and having fun in the kitchen!
Rating: Summary: You'd have to be crazy not to like Crazy Plates! Review: The authors have out-done themselves with Crazy Plates! If you own Looneyspoons, its companion Crazy Plates is chock full of more great easy-to-make low-fat but delicious recipes. The names, of course, will still leave you howling, and the cartoons are even funnier the second time around. Full dietary information is included with each recipe and there's more great advice for healthy eating.
Rating: Summary: Not Exactly Low Fat Review: The book is wonderfully written and is very entertaining. I was disappointed that most of the recipes barely qualify as low fat with up to 30% of the calories from fat.
Rating: Summary: Fun to read AND to eat! Review: The layout is great, the information is fun to read, and so far the recipes have been DELICIOUS! This book is so colorful and entertaining, I couldn't decide whether to sit and read it all night or start cooking! VERY highly recommended whether you are into low-fat cooking or not!
