Summary: I want you to get the most out of WebTV
Review: I used to work at WebTV Networks as a product manager, so you could say I got to know WebTV from the inside! There are lots of users who already know quite a lot about WebTV, but I think I've put enough tricks and tidbits into this book to make it useful even for them. And if you're a newbie, you'll definitely pick up some helpful information. This book covers Classic, Plus, and satellite models.

Sections are in alphabetical order. Chapters include topics such as email (including ways to get extra storage space!), chat, newsgroups, general Web surfing, extra features you get when watching TV, interactive TV, staying secure, general surfing, and how to build your own Web page (it's much easier than you think). I even try to decipher all those funny acronyms you see people use--LOL. ;-)

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this book. I really did enjoy writing it for you. Whatever you think (good or bad), I encourage you to leave a review for others to read here. Amazon.com is an excellent resource for community feedback.

Summary: Not smart enough to be a dummy.
Review: While Gentry's book has useful information it lacks some very basic information which is essential for the new user of WebTV. How about pictures of a keyboard and a remote indicating the function of all keys other than letters. For instance, wouldn't it be nice were there a discussion of the "option" button and what appears on the screen when the button is depressed.
