Summary: Tells you almost everything !!!
Review: A very helpful book.
It gives all the best true information as possible. The walkthrough is nice because it tells you what you have to do in each level via every screenshot.
The best thing about this book is that it has a seperate section
at the end as a guide on how to find all 70 secrets .
But the only 'bad thing' is the part on getting the revolver. I mean it clearly says in ''Coastal ruins'' that you need a revolver to shoot something. Only problem is we cannot find it, until later in the level .

Summary: Not Just the Revolver, It's Worse!
Review: As has already been noted, one of the biggest and most glaring problems with this guide is when it instructs you to equip a Revolver that you don't have. Specifically, when you reach the Coastal Ruins, the guide instructs you to "quickly equip the Revolver with LaserSight." The thing is, you don't have one because the revolver isn't available until much later in the game, when you reach the City of the Dead. (Where the guide states that you can "pick up a Revolver, if you don't have it already." Of course, you wouldn't have it already because it's not possible to get it before then.) The trick, actually, is to equip either the Crossbow to fire at the targets, follow the strategy another reviewer stated of using the grenade launcher followed by the shotgun, or load a super grenade into the grenade launcher and then one blow can take out all nine targets.

If this was the only problem, then perhaps the guide would still be worthwhile. This guide, however, also completely misses out on many cool secrets. This is absolutely insane, as the spine states "ALL SECRETS REVEALED." Yet it misses two very easy secrets at the beginning of the Valley of the Kings, making this a blatant lie!

Edit--- okay, so now I realize that the book actually does reveal all secrets- *in a separate section in the book of the book that isn't mentioned anywhere in the course of the normal text!* How, I ask, is that helpful? (Which means, of course, that they stuck in some time after they were originally finished writing the guide, just so they could claim on the cover, "All Secrets Revealed." Sorry, doesn't wash.)

Add in descriptions that often confusing (despite provided photos) and you have a guide that, while it may get you through the game, is definitely not worth of the title of "Prima's Official Strategy Guide." Don't buy this strategy guide. Instead, just locate one of the many walkthroughs available online. Not only are you more likely to get complete information because site readers can e-mail in if the guide-writer misses something, but you can also check against other walkthroughs to make sure you're not missing anything. The only problems I see with this is if you must have something to hold in your hands (you could print one, if you don't mind using up printer ink, or you have a hookup where you can print stuff for free), or if you don't have Internet access (in which case you wouldn't be reading this.)

Summary: Buy Another Book
Review: As usual... the pics are great. However, the pics alone are not going to get you through the game. Up until Alexandria... I have no major problem with the book. However it is here in Alexandria that we first learn there is a magoer problem. Where is the revolver? Did we miss something?? No. They neglected to tell us where it is and how to get it. the next level is the first level in which the revolver is important. However, it does not become so important to have until after you reach the lost library. Those of you who have played the game know what I mean. So now without the revolver, I came looking for another book. I hope to find one that tells me where to find the revolver. This Guide is pretty much useless now.

Summary: A real walkthrough?
Review: I was really disappointed with this guide. It left out a lot of stuff and is really just a very, very basic run-through. I long for the days of the first two TR guides, those were great. This book just doesn't tell you everything. If your looking for an in-depth walkthrough, then I would suggest looking on one of the TR fan-sites for it.

Summary: Inaccurate: Normal for Prima!
Review: Just like it's predecessors for the Tomb Raider series, this "Official Strategy Guide" contains both errors and omissions. Apparently Cheat-Codes were used during the game-play to write this: for instance this guide refers the player to perform tasks using items obtained prematurely which would NOT be available in normal game-play. Buy and use this at your own risk: you'll be on the web searching for the correct solutions either way!

Summary: Tells you EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW!!
Review: Tells you absolutely everything! And, as far as what the guy above said, the book does in fact tell you how to get the revolver WAY before it tells you to use it.

It helped me tremendously as far as giving me the ability to see what it was they where telling me to do via the pictures.

I would definitely recommend it!

Summary: This Book Had a Few Problems
Review: This book had a few problems. The secrets section is in the back of the book and is hard to use (going from one section to another). Also, some directions are wrong (mistaking right for left , north for south, etc.). This makes the game a little harder, but doesn't ruin it. All in all, not a bad book. It does the job--no more.
