Rating: Summary: Hardcore Diablo Fan??? Not with this book Review: After extensively playing all 5 classes through Nightmare and Hell difficulties, i decided to read this book while browsing in a shop... Wow... Whoever wrote this obviously never played the game more extensively then Act I, and if you ever want to build a decent character, avoid this guides advice at all costs... Examples: Necromancers revives do NOT benefit anything from additional points to revive, neither do their skeletons or skeleton mages... Thats what Skeleton Mastery does... Terrible guide... don't buy it! Izawwlgood
Rating: Summary: Finnaly... A GOOD Guide! Review: All I can say, well, is that I finnaly found the answer to my constant Diablo 2 Problems! This book containes pure, helpfull information on all the charector classes and skills. These well explained definitions also contain helpfull strategy tips and wondefully illustrated pictures. Theis Guide also has an amazingly descriptive guide on each quest throughout the game, not to mention helpful hints. AND, the book also has lists of EVERY monster in the game- including details such as resistince, special attack, etc.- ranging from the dimwitted zombies, to the prince of terro, diablo himself. And to top that off, it has details of all the unique items, and set items, not to mention information on the rare and magical items. Though only downfall is that it only covers normal difficulty, not the harder ones, and that there are no maps- which is of course impossible, because Diablo 2 Randomizes the maps and levels each time you play, creating a wondefull replay value. All in all, from the first time player to the Hardcore Enthusiast, this book is just what every gamer could ever want.
Rating: Summary: A good resource, but ... Review: As are all of these types of guides, the resource is good, with listings of monster types, weapons and quest walkthroughs. However, you could save yourself the money and find most (if not all) of this information on the net. What this guide gives you is the convenience of having it all at your fingertips, gorgeous maps, etc. and not having to waste time to try and find it online.
Rating: Summary: Great Information Review: Before I went out to buy this guide, I wondered if it had maps. I read the reviews and saw that it DID have maps, and color ones too! Let me correct this now... there are NO maps and the color section is not map related whatsoever! However, this is an excellent source of information if you are a hard core gamer and are going to go for the long haul of play. The book includes the original story behind this game - short section. The characters in detail and their options. The Quests, and this is a very good section that does NOT spoil the play. It is a short description with pictures (small) of what to expect and briefly so as not to ruin the play value. Also since the maps regenerate, the Quest section cannot explain it with map detail or any other perfect detail. It is just enough to help you and let you know what to expect. Very detailed charts and listings of potions, spells, etc.. Just what you would expect the book to contain as far as I am concerned. Without this guide, you would miss out on a lot and find things out the hard way, when it is too late! :-)
Rating: Summary: Not a good buy Review: Don't buy this book. It contains little info on quests, or anything else for that matter! A better place to visit is The Battle.net page for it. But for those of you who don't use the internet much this is an O.K. buy, but I advise those who live off the internet to spend your money on something else. (like the expansion pack!)
Rating: Summary: Absolutely necessary for Diablo II Review: Don't even try to play the game without this guide! Lots of hints on the new character classes (Barbarian, Palladin, etc.), good monster tips, help with the new villages, advice on special items, and help with all the quests. I'd say more, but I've gotta run and play the game! Buy the guide and do yourself a favour... it's great!
Rating: Summary: BIG WASTE OF MONEY Review: First of all, anyone who wrote a review and gave the it 5 stars...GIVE ME A BREAK! Look at what they wrote. Obviously it was either the author or someone from his publisher's office. Simply put, this book is a waste of money. Do you want some good info? Look on the net. You must already be on the net if you can read this, so go find your answer. Blizzard did a disservice to the people who bought the game by intentionally leaving out information in the game manual. We SHOULD NOT have to buy a third party game book in the first place. Well that's my opinion
Rating: Summary: IF YOUR ON-LINE NOW, SAVE YOUR MONEY Review: head over to battle.net/diablo2/ and you'll learn more in 10 minutes than from reading this whole book
Rating: Summary: Great Info...defintely a need to go with your game. Review: I borrowed my friends copy of this book...was very disappointed when i had to give it back. Great info..especially on the spells, weapons and items. I really like the color art pictures of the charcters (need more).
Rating: Summary: DIABLO II Review: I can't see how any one can give this guide 4 1/2 stars. The book gives few, if any, insights into the game for any player of Diablo I. I have played D1 for years and have had a lot of help from that guide. If I give the D1 guide four stars for the help it gives, I would be generous if I gave this guide book one star. In a nutshell, poor at best. If you have read the D1 guide don't expect any help on characters. The only help this book gives is the quest description. It seems to have been written by someone who has never played a game in their life. I'd pass on it unless you have $ to burn.
