Summary: Thin on content but helpful with hidden packages
Review: If I would have purchased this strategy guide prior to purchasing the strategy guide for Grand Theft Auto-Vice City, perhaps I would not have set my expectations so high. This strategy guide is OK, just OK. They have a map towards the beginning of the guide that shows where rampages, power ups, and other things are and the dimensions are so small it is almost useless. This guide is helpful for finding the 100 hidden packages. I found them with greater ease once I purchased this guide. As for the mission descriptions, some are vague and others are more in depth. This is not a guide that will help you greatly complete the game, but having the color guide will enhance your play of the game. It's thin on content, help and hints compared to the Vice City strategy guide but it is satisfactory.

Summary: If it's "official," they talk to the wrong official
Review: The maps and mission hints are great, but if you are counting on it for any of the extra's (unique stunts, hidden packages, rampages), look somewhere else. Several are depicted in the wrong locations on the maps, plus, the icons are so small it's difficult to tell which item is which. Plus, the numbers for the ambulance, vigilante, and fire missions are all wrong.

Summary: Sure helps me on the game!
Review: This book has it all- Character descriptions, and a full page on just about every mission including full maps, routes to take, and so much more. I had trouble finding it, but if you do, its definately worth it- some of the missions i couldnt beat without it!! GTA3 is the best PS2 game to come out this year, with a great strategy guide to help you out through the game.

Summary: Video-Gaming Girl
Review: This book is virtually essential to completely enjoying this game and achieving 100% completion. Sure, by using this guide you will be cheating, but it does take some of the unneccessary drudgery out of the game. If you don't mind a little inside information, get this guide. It will dramatically help you towards completion of the game.

Summary: Cool
Review: This did great on missions, but it didn't mention the cheat codes or anything like that. But hey, it saved my butt a few times

Summary: Overall Good Guide, Has It's Flaws...
Review: This GTA3 Strategy Guide is pretty good and has some important and helpful information in it. However, it is obvious that the author played an early version of the game. There are several things in the game that were tweaked in the version that was released to the public. One example that comes to mind is discrepencies in the payoff for various jobs. On one mission I was expecting to get $2000 and I ended up getting $4000. Also, the guide does not include any of the cheat codes. Several strategies for the missions are definately not the best you can get. For example, on one mission you have to follow a guy to the harbor to see if he is ratting out the Mafia. The guide reccomends that you attempt to tail the guy, which is extremely difficult. I checked on an internet FAQ and found a much easier method in which you steal a taxi and actually pick the guy up yourself.

Basically the guide is helpful. It does, however, have flaws that can't be ignored.

Summary: One Star For Only One Use
Review: This guide is almost completely useless. I played through the game on my own and after beating it (took me a month and a half) I got the guide to see all the great things I may have missed. Well getting the guide only let me see all the great things the guide's writers missed. I hardly consider the vigilante and taxi missions secrets since your told about them in the game. This book tells you nothing good ol' trial and error won't teach you, and in fact a lot of their "strategies" weren't even that good. If you have absolutely no desire to use your head then get the guide but be sure to head to some faqs to find all the great secrets that are not mentioned in the guide. Oh yea, the one use is that it does tell the locations of all the hidden packages which is the only thing I use the guide for.

Summary: Some of the information is commom sence....
Review: This guide is somewhat helpful. Some of the information is commom sence. They didnt over do anything because gta3 is a very comples game. The only reason why i gave this book 4 stars instead of 5 is because some of the info is allitle off, and the maps arent detailed enough. In the mission "Bomb Da BAse" this book says that i need to pay 50,000 in expenses, and the payoff is 100,000. The real informarion is that i need to pay 100,000 in expenses, and the payoff is 200,000. Also, at the end of one mission in the first Island u get a wanted level of 3. I couldnt find pay and spray (it was my 1st day playing). I turned to this book. The maps are terrible. U have to match the north side with the radar and then find out at whcih altitude ur in which is too complecated when ur heart is beating SO hard because u dont want to lose the mission. So.. i say buy this book as a back up if u cant pass a mission, but dont depend on it.

Summary: Great Item
Review: This is a great strategy guide! It is very complete, has all the maps for the city and the places where you can find all the cool stuff! It also leaves some things to your imagination since it is spoil free.

Buy it and enjoy GTA3 at its fullest!!!
