Summary: A nice buy but not always...
Review: There are times when you're glad you have this guide and other times when you wish you didn't. The guide's overall presentation isn't bad but there are a few things that make this short a star (sometimes maybe two). First off, I like that the guide is a flip cover and not like their Final Fantasy Anthology guide.

First, the FFIV section. A complete walkthrough is there for FFIV as well as a complete items list and spells list. The walkthrough has suggested levels for dungeons (and trust me on this versio of FFIV you'll want to be at those levels!). Some nice clear screens along the way and some pretty cool secrets that were a nice addy. Character Bios that give me info on each character and hardly a major spoiler in sight. Complete items lists and nice boss strategies as well.

Chrono Trigger section is also nicely done with detailed items lists and tech skills list. Each sidequest is covered in-depthly with some nice boss strategies too. No suggested levels but the game is pretty easy.

Both sections include a bestiary as well but it's only text. This doesn't annoy me but it does others.

So what's the problem with the guide? It has world maps for both sections and seems to include everything...

Well first off, the maps (when they actually have some) are downright TERRIBLE! Most of them are a simple screenshot while tons of maps simpley aren't there. The FFIV section details everything about spells except when you actually learn them. So the level you learn them isn't clear. Both sections have a disorganized walkthrough that cleary make this guide seem like a rushed job. Chrono Trigger section also contains a few spoilers and FFIV section has bad directions to another town (thank god they put world maps in this one!).

Overall, the guide is nice for when you're stuck but don't expect that much in-depth info.

Summary: A must have for the rpg world!!!
Review: This game guide is one of the best that i have seen yet for chrono trigger...though the cover isnt very flashy it is after all what is inside that counts. With this guide you wont have to worry about getting lost in that annoying dungeon or get defeated by that darn nasty boss and have to keep reloading your game, rest assured this guide will bring you to the top of your game.

Summary: rather poor if you ask me
Review: this guide is definatley one of the worse guides i have ever used. I foud items that weren't listed at the begining of each section mislabled items, a couple of their boss sugestions were poorly done, in the final fight it claims Zeromus is a counter atacke well he's not onc you hit him he dose't stop. Directions were poorly done, secret areas were not described. Their suggested levels were too high, up until the final boss fight wher they are pretty acurate

Summary: dont buy this book!
Review: This is a good guide, but definetely has much false advertising! the maps that they claim are there arent helpful, and it is missing most area maps! the guide also doesnt tell you what level the characters gain magic spells. buy this guide if you want to waste your money, or get a better guide free from the experts, the makers, squaresoft, at squaresoft.com!!!!

Summary: rather poor if you ask me
Review: This is a well written guide covering two wonderful games. I found it very helpful, especially for Chrono Trigger, which I had not played in any form before.

It's got all the basics covered, but there were a few tricks that it left out, such as the rather odd but very useful trick of slowing down the battle speed in FFIV to make the battles easier.

Summary: A Mountain of Detail
Review: This is probably the best strategy guide I have used to date. The detail is incredible, especially for FFIV, and bestiary information (much-needed for FFIV) is given before each dungeon. The walkthrough warns you when a party member will leave you, but doesn't give away the plot. This guide is essential, especially since we're talking about FFIV Hard-Type. Also, a complete guide to CT's Extras Mode and endings is given, making it that much easier to get all those goodies.
