Rating: Summary: Groening, rhymes with complaining Review: It's one thing to say that life is hell and sit back and sulk. It's another thing to turn it into hysterical, scathing humor. Matt Groening's "... is Hell" series is by far the darkest and funniest exploration into our modern life. If Mark Twain were a cartoonist, this is what he would have produced. Compare these cartoons to those animated yellow people (Bart, Homer, et al.), and The Simpsons are no longer a dysfunctional family.

Rating: Summary: Excellent book, hilarious, repeat value. Review: The Big Book of Hell is a very worthy collection of Life in Hell, one of the best comic strips never to appear in many major papers. It provides an extremely cynical look at all aspects in life and its cartoons are sure to work their way onto your fridge or bulliten board. It still makes me laugh even though I must have read its cartoons at least 25 times each.
Rating: Summary: More Bitter Than the Simpsons Review: The early works of "Life in Hell," lovingly reproduced here in large format, are a lot more personal and cynical than "The Simpsons" or even more contemporary "Life in Hell" strips. In those days, "Life in Hell" was not just a comic strip -- it was therapy for Groening, and in turn, for his readers. I recommend this book highly to anyone who is a fan of the Simpsons and anyone who appreciates cynical humor.

Rating: Summary: Literary Masterpiece Review: This belongs on your bookshelf next to Kafka and it is one of the funniest things you'll ever read. The Simpsons is tame compared to this stuff.
Rating: Summary: This book is awesome Review: This book is really funny, and yet so realistic (apart from the talking bunnies). You can definitly see some simalarities between the charactors in the Simpsons and the characters in the book. I plan on buying all 5 books
Rating: Summary: Another great book by Matt Groening! Review: THIS BOOK IS SO COOL, THAT IT EVEN HAS BONGO'S (a funny bunny) DREAM HOUSE! if you like Futurama and the Simpsons, then this is a book for you!(oh, and by the way, if you just want to read this for the bunny family, i suggest you read the "Jeff and Akbar" strip, It's definitly the best!)
