Rating: Summary: The book was pretty funny, it was my favorite. Review: I loved this book because it had a poem on the first page. I thought it was funny and a bit true. The funny part is the way Calvin described the food and school. The part that was a bit true was that he wanted to leave school and make there own food. In the actaul story Hobbes gets lost and Calvin is worried sick. It shows that he loves him a lot. I love hobbes a lot also, and I wish I had the doll. I always hoped they made a doll of Calvin and Hobbes, but I don't know why they don't.
Rating: Summary: Dissapointing; doesn't have the appeal of the earlier days. Review: The first two Calvin and Hobbes books were the best books I've ever read. But this one, just doesn't have the same chemistry. Sure there are some incredible comics in here, but there is something about this book that is not as great as the other two. It's sort of bland compared to the others. Calvin and Hobbes don't seem to be as close as they used to be. This is especially evident in the title cartoon, which just doesn't have that good of a chemistry and is kind of sad. Other cartoons on here, like the last one where Calvin makes a new improved transmogrifier, is a lathargic flop with no chemistry about Calvin and Hobbes's friendship. It is very bitter, and it is not as good as it should have been. But, of course, there are some classics in here too, like the one where Hobbes comes to school with Calvin and helps fight off that dumb bully Moe, and the hilarious masterpiece where the family goes on vacation at that awful site once again. This time it rains the whole time and the results are amazing. But as a whole, although it is good, Yukon Ho! isn't as good as the previous two. The illustrations are a lot better, and there are many great comics, don't get me wrong, but Calvin and Hobbes just don't have that same chemistry that they used to. But, some good comics like the one where Calvin and Hobbes see Uncle Max in a special visit and the one where Calvin and Hobbes predict a theory that the world is coming to an end because it is getting colder show that Watterson hasn't permanantely fallen off. He just needs to think about things Calvin and Hobbes should do and make these comics less bitter, because there are some amazing comics in here, but some bad ones, too. This is still a good book, but not as great as it could have and should have been. I still recommend it, though.
Rating: Summary: Take it to the Yukon, or anywhere else Review: The title of "Yukon Ho" referrs to a classic series of strips in which Calvin decides he doesn't want to put up with the "strict" rules of living at home and that he and Hobbes should run away to the Yukon, where they can ride their sled all day. Surprised that his mother doesn't raise much of a fuss when he announces his intentions, Calvin prepares for the journey ahead. This is another outstanding collection in the Calvin and Hobbes series. Bill Watterson is a comic genius whose presence on the funny pages has been sorely missed since his retirement.

Rating: Summary: Yukon is the place to go! Review: This book is another hilarious book about Calvin(a six year old boy) and Hobbes(his stuffed tiger which comes to life in Calvin's imagination). The book is named "Yukon Ho" because Calvin and Hobbes are sick of following rules and want to go to Yukon where they can have fun and play in the snow. It even has a little song in the begining of the book about going to the Yukon. And of course it's full of Calvin and Hobbes getting into trouble, playing outside,"going into the future" and Calvin dealing with babysitters and "Alien" teachers. One of my favorite strips in the book goes like this=(first square)Calvin says to Susie(classmate) at lunch time "Processed lunch meat is pretty scary. What ARE these little specks anyway? Lizard parts? Who knows?" (second square) Calvin says "And this "skin". I heard it used to be made of intestine, but i think nowadays it's plastic." (next square) Calvin says while looking at an apple "Of course, they dye and wax fruit so it looks better. It's like eating a candle."(next square) Calvin says "yep, we'd probably be dead now if it wasn't for twinkies." Susie says with her head in her hands "And mom wonders why i'm so hungry after school." I like that strip, it's pretty funny along with the rest of the book. get it! you'll enjoy it!
Rating: Summary: This is the best Calvin and Hobbes book! Review: This is the best Calvin and Hobbes book! Bill Waterson sure makes lots of funny comics. My favorite parts of this comic is when Calvin's family goes camping and it rains so hard they cant even make a fire, Also this comic has Calvin's Uncle Max. I didn't really like that part. After that they never showed Max again. Some more parts I love are when Calvin and Susie both have to do a report together and Calvin does terrible, and I love the part where Calvin creates a transmogrifier pistol and he gets stuck being an owl when it breaks. Oh and don't forget about Rosalyn, that was funny too when the police came and Calvin got in really big trouble. I think this book is a must-buy for everyone who loves Calvin and Hobbes
Rating: Summary: Another great CAH book. Review: This was the first Calvin and Hobbes book I ever had, it was the book that introduced me to Calvin and Hobbes, and it was the book that converted me to Calvin and Hobbes. I found out about it in a book order mini-catalog. And I'm so glad I found it interesting. Now I know everything I would've been missing for so long! Bill Waterson was very talented when he wrote this book-but he always is whenever he wrote a book! I'm just very sad he retired. This book even has a song in the front of the book! Please by this book. You will enjoy it!
