Rating: Summary: Get together Review: This book is a riot. On Christmas, we passed around to our two teens and all of us were cracking up at Bucky's attitude and Satchel's gentle manner. There's nothing like sharing one of these funnies when the tension gets high, and to have a good laugh. The rejected comic characters and Bucky's "Box o' Pun" are real winners. Our kids' friends get a kick out of this book too. Makes for a fun time laughing and relaxing together! Enjoy and lighten up with Rob and his buddies.
Rating: Summary: cool Review: this book is the best can wait to send to my friends. its funner than the first four
Rating: Summary: Blueprint for Disaster is a blueprint for laughter Review: This is indeed another triumph for hilarious Darby Conley. I agree that the Sunday strips need to be in color or done over in black and white. I also recommend becoming familiar with the Get Fuzzy characters before jumping into this book. The previous books are a wonderful introduction into Get Fuzziness. The characters are funny, believable, and lovable - even Bucky! Buy all the books, read the strip, LOVE Get Fuzzy! It's a bright spot in today's world!
Rating: Summary: Funniest comic strip around. Review: This light hearted comic strip has quickly become my favorite and this book is just fantastic. Mark my words, you're going to try to get through the whole thing in one sitting! Especially funny for the pet owners out there, but don't let the premise stop you -- it's one of the best strips out there with sharp wit, sarcasm, and one freaky cat.
Rating: Summary: Never Again, Blueprint for Failure. Review: When will we actually see a great new strip? All of the great writers are a thing of the past. I remember the hayday of comics. The Far Side, Calvin and Hobbes. Bloom County etc. People are just pretending that Get Fuzzy is funny. It is Not Funny. What Darby should do is get of his high horse. Usually great artists have some self loathing, which actually makes their strips good. Conley is too stuck on himself to make the strip presentable. He also uses too much from other strips. An example of this would be the "Are You Bucksperienced" cover to one of the other collections. Berkley Breathed used that same type of musical cover to his homage to U2 and Bruce Springsteen. Darby dont do things that have already been done before. It just shows your inflamed ego and that you are more unoriginal than a designer imposter.
