Rating: Summary: Mesmerizing Biography Review: I have been a fan of Hole since the early 90's. This book is thoroughly engrossing. I could not put it down once I started reading it. The depth of this novel provided incredible insite to the powerful persona that is Courtney Love. I am an unremitting fan.
Rating: Summary: Grabbing, a look into the twisted childhood of a GREAT woman Review: I thought this was an amazing book, at times I was confused by the writing so I didn't know what period she was in at her life in certain sections. I also thought some of the pictures were insigificant, otherwise a super book about a diva.
Rating: Summary: a must read 4 courtney love fans Review: i found this book to be amazing . poppy z brite did a brilliant , and impartial job . i was unable 2 put the book down once i started to read it
Rating: Summary: Buy this book! Review: This book is incredible! I've read it several times, and i always learn something new that i didn't really notice last time. If you like Hole, if you like Courtney Love, or even if you hate her, BUY this book! Any fan MUST get this, it's really the best thing out, if you want to know what REALLY happened (you know there are a LOT of rumors) then i highly suggest reading this book. It's completely worth your money, and unlike some books, you will want to read it more than once. At the very least, borrow it from the library. It's one of the best books i've ever read....
Rating: Summary: A terrific portrayal Review: Poppy Z. Brite gives such a sense of knowing, and if you are a Love fan, you wont be able to put this book down!
Rating: Summary: A good read for those even mildly interested in CL Review: This is a pretty good read even if you feel you already know Courtney's life story. The stuff that you probably know already if you've followed Courtney/Hole/Nirvana isn't dwelled upon as much as usual, and the documentation of some of the crazier claims about her early life helps assure the skeptical. I still didn't believe everything implicitly, but Poppy seemed pretty neutral and the book didn't have an overbearing author's personality running through it.
Rating: Summary: Book Review: Okay, I thought that this umm book was really great. I am a big fan of Courtney Love and for once it is great to read a book that does'nt lie about her and one that she has approved of. It is one of those books that just keep you reading and reading. It gives you a lot of information on her life; for example, how her childehood was, what she went through in her life growing up and all, and about her great and best band ever, Hole. It has a lot of great pictures. But, blah blah my whole point was that it's a good book and I really liked it. (sorry is some things are are little wrong in the spelling area)
Rating: Summary: Courteney Love is a woman, rock icon, and a survivor. Review: I had heard so much hype about Courteney Love that I was intrigued. I loved this book. I am so amazed at her internal strength through it all. She is a role model for how women should look to themselves for their own inner strength and devotion. She is a mother, a woman, a fighter, a singer, a poet but most of all, a survivor. For the true look at Courteneny, read this book.
Rating: Summary: This book is very informative,if you're a true Courtney fan! Review: Courtney Love: The Real Story is a must have book, if you are a hardcore Courtney fan, ( which I am). Poppy Z. Brite gave me yet another perspective on her. She put in my mind that Courtney is loving, caring and generous. But is a brutal bitch to those she hates. Poppy made me Live Through Courtney's childhood, teens years, and some of her adult life. This book made me cry when going through the custody battle of Frances Bean and the suicide ("murder"according to Tom Grant ) of her late husband, Kurt Cobain. you'll LOVE this book if you LOVE Courtney Love Cobain.
Rating: Summary: I think it is a good review of her life Review: This biography was written by someone who is very well informed about Courtney Love personally. The author, being friends with Courtney, has the best view of Courtney's life. I think the information was probably very accurate in that sense.
