Summary: AMAZINGLY WELL WRITTEN AND GRIPPING FROM PAGE 1
Review: I've loved Courtney Love for a while but never really knew that much about her childhood and such. She had a really tough childhood and it made me feel for her. I too cried when she explained Kurt's death and the letter, as I'm sure many did. She's an amazing women and I'm so proud of her for everything she's been through to come back with love.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: I love love love Courtney Love!!!!!!!!!!
Review: I read this book twice-both times making me cry at the point where Kurt died because of the suicide letter she read. I love Poppy Z. brite's other books which I read because Courtney read :Lost Souls. She is an extraordinary writer. I read Lost Souls and The Crow:The Lazarus Heart. She describe's Courtney's horrible childhood in great detail- ten times better than Mellisa Rossi's 'Courtney Love Queen of noise" or any other Courtney Love/Hole books. I've read them all.

Summary: Disappointingly sketchy "biography"
Review: This book contains surprisingly little information about any of its subjects (I learned much more about Rozz Rezabek from the movie "Kurt and Courtney", which provides an interesting counterpoint to this view of Courtney's seeming to be able to do no wrong.), but considering that its main subject definitely has at least one type of personality disorder, and seems to be almost impossible to communicate with on a coherent level, I was not surprised! The pictures included are of very poor quality, also, but as we said, don't know that the author was totally to blame for this. (I was wondering why Poppy Z. Brite did not interview Kurt's aunt, as she was very helpful in the making of "K & C", and provided a loving, happy point of view regarding Kurt's childhood, introduction to music, etc.)

Summary: A C. Love fan .
Review: I read this book like-at least 6 times. I LOVE it. The Kurt chapters were the best. I even cried when i read the book. But remember, the only reason Courtney is famous is because she married Kurt Cobain. Sad, but true.

Summary: Love's Labors Found
Review: Without a doubt, this is the best book on Courtney Love. It delivers frighteningly vivid details of Love's childhood, the pain of her teenage years, and her metomorphosis from grunge queen to glam grrrl. It includes exerpts from her diaries, stories from friends and newspaper and magazine clippings. I would give it 5 stars and reccomend it to fans and non fans alike.

Summary: At times mediocre yet satisfies your initial need for info.
Review: Brite writes as though she may be somewhat intimidated by the subject she represents. One feels as if not all is being said and cant help but wonder "why"? Yet, despite the sense of half heartedness that undulates the subtext , stems the truth of a girl who simply had to wait and let the world catch up with her. Although it is no fairy tale, I believe it offers one of the best happy endings yet..reality.

Summary: Live through this...
Review: I guess I expected more out of the writing style (being a fan of Poppy's) and when it became obvious this book resembles more closely to an elaborate timeline than an actual novel, I became almost immediately bored with it. Anyway, once I got over that, I realized that although Poppy had more access than probably anyone else (due to their friendship), I really just didn't feel anything for Courtney for the entire duration of this book. The insights were few and far between into her motivations and emotional states. It's informative and a must read for true fans of Courtney, but if you expect entertainment-read a magazine interview...

Summary: This book was excellent....
Review: Even though the beginning was tedious and hard to get through, after the first couple of chapters, you relive Courtney's horrible childhood expirences and pain. The "Kurt chapters" were tear-jerking and you really could feel the torment of losing the one you love. All in all, an excellent read, and beautiful pictures.

Summary: Excellent..I read it in one day!!
Review: I have been a Hole/C.Love fan for years, but this book gave me new insight about her personal history and the challenges this amazing woman has overcome. She sheds her "riot grrl" image and gets real. Courtney has earned my true respect and adoration. The book is well written and researched. Thumbs up to Poppy Z. Brite. This is a definite "must read" if you are a Hole/C.Love fan!
