Rating: Summary: Let Agnetha Stand Alone! Review: Finally the book that promised to reveal the true side of Agnetha - but stays fairly safe. An entertaining book splashed with beautiful pictures, the best being from her own private collection. But why "Abba - before and beyond" was added to the original title leaves me puzzled, perhaps so American and Australian audiences can readilly identify the artist and the group!

Rating: Summary: Hello! This is Agnetha! Review: Hope you'll have pleasure while reading my book! Bye!!!
Rating: Summary: Great for collectors of Agnetha Faltskog memorabilia Review: I am a loyal fan of ABBA and particularly of Agnetha. "As I Am" was an excellent source of pictures for me as a fan. I do not, however, understand why this book was billed as a "No holds barred" account of her life with ABBA. I expected a lot more in depth information about Agnetha as a person, daughter, wife, mother, performer, etc. One question: Why was her sister never mentioned again after the picture on page 18????? I enjoyed reading this book as a fan and it is a great addition to my collection, but I would love to know more.
Rating: Summary: she could've more... Review: I am an ABBA/Agnetha fan. She may come out with sheer garbage and I will still go out and get it. But since I still care about the $20.00 i blew on this, this is my 10 cents worth: the translations are to be kind about it at some portions in the book, faulty (ie:"survive with our lives intact [?]) I certainly respect her decision not to touch on those that, in her own words, would cause any hurt to anyone but she at least could've made up for that by telling us about how it was like working for the producers of her two other solo albums:Eric Stewart (of 10cc) and Peter Cetera (formerly of Chicago). At least, I am thankful to know that Agnetha and Frida didn't hate each other. As far as setting the record straight is concerned, I think she still could've said more.
Rating: Summary: A glimpse inside of Agnetha Review: I didn't know much gossip about ABBA before I read this book, and having read it, I certainly know more than I did, mainly about the career and inside world of Agnetha as a performer. But as an average reader and former fan of ABBA I would have liked to know more about her personal life, and about her as a person, not as a performer. Although some people have commented in these reviews that there are wonderful photos, what I was really hoping to see was pictures of her with her family, her children, her parents, and her sister, and what they really thought about her as a daughter, a mother, and a sister. All the pictures show her as a part of ABBA onstage or in her professional life, except for one very blurry and old picture of her as a little girl with her parents and her baby sister. I expected more interesting pictures, especially of her children.
Rating: Summary: She did it-HER way Review: I found this book to be rather informative in some aspects. I learned some things about Agnetha that I never knew before: she has a son, was involved in a horrible bus accident, the vile way the press has treated her, etc. She only revealed what she wanted to, and kept the rest to herself. I applaud the tasteful, yet discreet way she told the story of herself, and her career in music. This book happily confirms what I've always thought about Agnetha~that she is a very classy lady, devoted mother, and exceptional singer who is deserving of all the admiration and love from her fans everywhere!
Rating: Summary: One book to fall in love Review: I have read parts of different books about ABBA, but I have never liked to read the books about my favorite group.. for different reasons - and the main one is because in all these books it was not ABBA members' points of view, but the different person's. This is why I decided to try "As I Am" - not only because Agnetha Faltskog has been my favorite star for 10 years. I started the book the very day I took it in my hands and I was not able to put it aside and go to sleep until the next morning, when I finished it. I just could not go to sleep until I finished! The book is interesting, it is really very interesting. The style is nice and easy to read, although never plain. The authors shared their opinion on many points and revealed many questions one, who is interested in ABBA or Agnetha, can feel the need to ask. There are some funny and witty momnets that can easy make you smile. And which was the main point, for me at least, you can see the author's thoughts, her opinion on many things, her attitude to many problems. Agnetha really shares a lot with this book. It is not thrue that this book is empty - it is just fuul of deep thoughts of the wonderful woman, she shared with readers. Oh, yes, and pictures - the pictures are great! This book alone is enpgh to feel in love with the author. Thank you, Agnetha.Sincerely, Tatiana
Rating: Summary: Only for very strong ABBA fans Review: I have to agree with most of the other comments, especially when they say the book fails to deliver as an autobiography. Without knowing any gossip about ABBA, I know more than this woman is telling. Sometimes it's quite boring, I daresay, especially when she starts discussing Deepak Chopra. It's completely out of line; besides she doesn't reveal anything about what it was really like to be part of such a wonderful group (they were and still are my favourites). I'd advice to buy it only for the pictures, which are great; otherwise refrain. It isn't worth it.
Rating: Summary: Wow! Review: I saw this book on the internet when I was about 10, and have longed for it ever since. I tried 100's of ways of getting it but no matter what, it was Unavaliable. Then, yesterday, my best friend had it for me, after almost 4 years of wanting it really badly! I sat down and read it cover to cover - twice! It is the best book you could ever hope to read, and has a family photo of Ingvar, Birgit, Agnetha and Mona in it, the only photos of her sister, Mother and Father you can find. I really recomend this book.
