Rating: Summary: Cobain as seen through another musician's eyes. Review: Kurt Cobain may very well have been the first and last significant musicain of the 1990's. Kurt posessed a talent that few hope for, and what few will have. That talent is the ability to make us feel. NO matter who you are if you've listened to, seen, or read extensively about Kurt and Nirvana you will realise that there is at least one thing that he's done, writen, said, or sung that's made you feel. I, being a musician myself looked up to Kurt and was able to see the underlying emotion to the writing. Kurt always said that he never had any underlying meaning to his songs that they were just songs. If you are a musician you know that when you write a song you write it from your heart, what's inside. A song is a reflection of what is on the inside of the musician. Kurt's songs were not a reflection of death or suicide, or even blatant drug abuse. As an opinion of my own Kurt's songs reflect sorrow, disgust, depression and frustration. While others depict love and joy, (Turn Around) and some just utter senslesness. (Beeswax, Hairspray Queen, Mexican Seafood) Kurt gave us all something to think about. Let's give him something back: REMEMBRANCE. Cobain, by Woodard, is a prime example of journalism at it's best. Woodard does a splendid job of drawing the reader in and keeping their attention. In reading this book I would have to say, "It saved me a lot of money trying to find back issues of 'Rolling Stone' magazine for some of the poeces that was in this book." Also, I think that it was entirely informative and it made me want to keep reading. Scott Carroll
Rating: Summary: Kurt Cobain Review: Kurt Cobain was the talented, angry, and very depressed lead singer of an early 1990s grunge-rock band. This book written by "Rolling Stone" magazine is a factual book containing a few opinions on Cobain's life and personality. The authors did an exceptional job on informing the audience on his past background. They also did an astounding job on helping you understand why Cobain committed suicide and what his problems were. This book would be excellent for anyone who was a past fan of the band "Nirvana". Special quotes about Cobain's life and personality are given by Michael Stipe, who is the lead singer from R.E.M., Eddie Vedder, lead singer of Pearl Jam, and many other of his close friends. The authors used very descriptive details about this "legend's" life. This book made me realize what an incredible and depressing life Cobain led when he was young. I understood why he chose to do the things that he did towards the end of his life. What Courtney Love thought about his death was shocking and grabbing; while reading about his childhood history was informative and left a sympathetic feeling.

Rating: Summary: Kurt was a hero and a legend Review: Kurt was the coolest person that ever lived, Many think that he was out of his mind, But I think he was a genious, poet, and an Awsome musician. I think that if it was suicide, it was because of the fact that he never wanted to dim out of the seen, and he felt like he'd be a plaug to his daughter's future. But Kurt, you will be missed by many, and hopefully we will see you later on J.D.

Rating: Summary: Kurt Cobain's life influences the youth of Generation X. Review: Okay yeah yeah yeah I know what you're thinking.... I am this girl obsessed with some stupid drugy person who committed suicide...well think again. My name is Hallie and I don't think of as Kurt Cobain as a stupid man in my opinion he is more like a genius. "Cobain by the Editors of Rolling Stone" is a book that reveals the partially told story of his life and makes it completely understood that he is not what you would assume from what the media say...they are just doing their job and trying to make his life a big lie and also make money at it. Rolling Stone knows Nirvana from interviews and other affairs and the book explains about his sad life, Nirvana, his wife, and the light of his life...Frances Bean. "Kurt Cocaine" is what people have been known to call him well yes he did have a drug problem but put yourself in his shoes and live his life and I think you would too. He was very confused and turned to drugs and that is what sucks the fact that kids think it is cool because he did them. Kurt Cobain hated himself and the last thing he wanted was to be was an influence on people especially his own daughter. About his music.... Raging emotions put into words his lyrics are like a sad movie but the tears are invisible they are so powerful and hold a lot of meaning not really to us and make no sense but to him they are his cry out to the world. Now that you know a bit about Kurt Cobain get to know a little more about his very interesting and depressing life..."It's better to burn out than fade away" - Kurt Cobai
