Rating: Summary: A Real Cobain Book! Review: A great book about all the things of Kurt! The editors of Rolling Stones are doing a great job! If you like Nirvana, you'll like this book. You can know more about Kurt from it. Besides, the pictures and layouts are quite good.
Rating: Summary: rolling stone vs. kurt Review: as famous as rolling stone is they still have to have idols on pedestals or at the very least, people they don't care about who have a considerable amount of money that they must bend over for to kiss the "RICH" butt, and this is how they felt/feel about kurt.... joking" but what a wonderful idea- to take the interviews about kurt/ and Nirvana or with them from rolling stone and stick them in a book as a tribute (?). even though kurt didn;t necessarily care for rolling stone magazine, this book is filled with (sOmewhat OR GReatly) written interviews and wonderful pics of kurt, his family, old re-incarnations of Nirvana, and the last lineup. It has many nice quotes also inc. in here of many lead singer pals of his, such as Micheal Stripe (of REM), and producers. this is real and surprisingly impressive, such a great bit of Nirvana merchandise, especially if you don't want to go out and buy every piece of Nirvana books/magazines. You could just buy this, and it provides all the obvious info. such as his birth place and death date but includes mANy tid bits taken from Come As You Are (and if you are reading this already own it or should). get this. you must. a lot of the information i'm sure you must already own but you will learn some thing new about a great band. and if you don't know this and/or Come As YOu Are you are seriously missing out. And are living under a rock. Seek help...
Rating: Summary: Interesting Book about an Interesting Person Review: Great Book! I especially liked how Fred Woodward, Editor of Rolling Stone Maganzine choose many different people to write about many different parts of Kurt Cobain and Nirvana's career.
Rating: Summary: excellent Review: great pictures. i LOVED it. i've been looking for it since it first came out. today my boyfriend's brother brought it over to their house so we could look at it and it was better than i ever imagined. once again, a perfect 10.
Rating: Summary: the perfect book for the perfect fan Review: i bought this book a couple months back thinking, "this is just gonna be another brief book about kurt's life. the same material every other book has." i didn't think that i'd actually get through the whole thing, cos i had heard his story over and over again anyways. i thought it'd be boring. man was i wrong! i couldn't put it down. halfway through the book, i realized this wasn't just any plain biography; this was a big colage of kurt's life: his music, his family, his drug abuse, and his sad death. some people think that kurt was just another junky-musician. but this book proves far beyond a doubt that he was so much more. he was a creative and influential person to all of us (even though some people choose to deny it). after reading this book, i came to the conclusion that i didn't need to buy any other books about kurt cobain, or nirvana, because all the imformation i needed was right in my hands.
Rating: Summary: more factual than really getting into who Kurt was Review: I definetly thought this book was very good. A compilation of interviews with Kurt, Courtney, and their close friends, "Cobain" was a timeline of Kurt's life and the circumstances leading to, eventually, his suicide. However, the book states things very arbitrarily and doesn't really delve into or analyze the facts. It just sort of coldly, without emotion, talks about his life and death. Personally, being a lover of both Kurt and his music, I would have preferred to see something writen by someone who was more personally connected to him and at least could feel the sorrow and emotion that his music evoked and his suicide caused.

Rating: Summary: INTERESTING STUFF....hmmm Review: I enjoyed this. It had pix and articles I had never seen before. I have to recommend it not just for Nirvana fans and grunge fans but for rock fans in general. It really shows us who a rock star is...not just Kurt Cobain. I give the author credit for the way it is written. It is one of the two best books about rock stars out in the last few years. The other is "Layne Staley, angry chair" about the guy from Alice In Chains. Both are definitely a unique look at the men behind the songs.
Rating: Summary: Kurt Cobain is the greatest singer that has ever lived Review: I love Kurt Cobain and have for a while now. The book by Rolling Stones show the greatest pictures of Kurt Cobain. He was a good singer and they showed how wonderful Kurt was. The facts are wonderful and for those who want to learn about him this is a great book to offer. He was a good man who will always live in my heart. He brought a new type of grunge music into this world that was like no other music out there. He changed music forever. He was a great man and this book shows how wonderful he was. He will never fade away. Kurt Cobain may you rest in peace. Katelyn
Rating: Summary: Cobain Review: I really enjoyed this book and there are wonderful photos. Every Kurt Cobain/Nirvana fan should own it. It is a true collectable.
