Rating: Summary: Candid, honest, and heratbreakingly sweet! Review: WOW! This book is just fabulous! If you love Desi as much as I do (which I doubt is possible) this book is for you! It's such an honest account of a young Cuban boy's life, shattered at a young age by a revolution that forced him to leave his beloved Cuba but paved the way for a new life in America-a life with money, the world's largest televison company, and the love and adulation of millions. But with that money came a price-a price he payed with his health and with his marriage to Lucy. It's all here, from his best times to his worst, from his happiest moment to his most heartwrenching, and the heartbreakingly sweet ending (which is the last line before the epilouge)to his facinating book. this is a wondaful book!
Rating: Summary: I love Desi too! Review: Wow! What a life Senor Arnaz led. We all love Lucy, but the man who created the most popular sitcom ever often gets overlooked. His book is thorough and eye-opening. If you love Lucy you need to read this book to hear the other side of the story. Although I did not always like how he chose to deal with life, I came away from this book with an enormous respect for the work he did. He was a great musician, producer/director, and businessman. I also believe he loved Lucy to his dying day.
