Summary: Hmm, Wendy??I don't know...
Review: I have been listening to Wendy Williams since I was in elementary school. My friends and i have always been fans ( my bestfriend won her very 1st CD player from Wendy on KISS!!). SO when she started hyping this book, I was expecting a grandiose tome of her life, the whys the hows, and of course celebrity talk at it's best. What I got was a poorly written bio about her drug addiction, that fat girl thing, and no real celebrity dish. Every thing that was worth knowing, she made a "blind item".Most of this stuff we learned just from listening to the darn show. The only thing I learned about her is that she must have really learned from her mistakes, because a lot of the advice she gives on the show is completly contradictory to the things she's done in her life.

Summary: Still looking for the heat!
Review: I am a regular listener of The Wendy Williams show. As such ,I anxiously awaited the release of this book. To say I was disaapointed would be an understatement. This book was poorly written. To call it a beach read would be giving it too much credit.

Summary: 4 Stars for Telling The Truth
Review: Okay, I am going to give this book my honest review. As I stated in my title, I give this book **** stars because Wendy & Kevin tell the truth, and keep it real about their lives. (not like hilary clinton's book)

No this is not scholarly writing but who really expected it to be. Also for those readers who were disappointed that Wendy didn't dish the dirt of the stars....HELLO, don't you listen to her show. Wendy makes it clear that this was not a book about gossip.

The book is an easy read and a page turner. It will make you laugh and certainly make you understand Mrs Hunter a bit better.

My one real complaint was that there was waaaaaaayyyy to much useless profanity used in this book. Wendy's stories are dramatic enough and the extra F*^@ here and there were not necessary.

Read it for yourself and decide

Summary: Wendy should be paying me to read this...
Review: For starters, the cover of the book makes her look like a porn star. I was almost to ashamed to buy the book because I thought people would think I was reading porn. Second, this book was one of the most poorly written books I have ever read in my life. I found myself skipping pages and trying to find the good parts. I was EXTREMELY disappointed especially since she hyped the book so much on the radio. Also, some of the stories just didn't make sense because they were so underdeveloped. Wendy presents herself as a well-spoken sophisticated woman, but the only thing I saw in this book was a weak addict w/ low self esteem. It was obvious that this book was a rush job. Don't buy this book. Just get it in the library for free....and if you want mine....take it...I won't be reading the book again...

Summary: SHE IS OUR QUEEN
Review: The book is great.I started reading the book and it caught my attetion from the beginning to the end . I attended Wendy's book
signing at the short hills mall in nj and there was so many people who couldn't wait to met the Queen of radio and Wendy was there
for her many fans and took the time to sign every single book.
Wendy was so humble and grateful to her many fans. Wendy is not afraid of sharing her life with her fans and her advice hour has helped so many people and I am sure her book will also help so many people going through hard times in their lives.

Summary: Best book out there
Review: I purchased the book during lunch. When I got home I ate dinner and planned to read a couple of chapters. I ended up reading the entire book without stopping. That was the first time I have ever done that in my life. She really puts herself out there. She did hold back at all. This is a must read!!!!!!!

Summary: Mmmm, not feeling it!
Review: I love Wendy but I'm not feeling her book. She hyped it up to be sooo drama filled, that it's a bit disappointing to read. She doesn't gossip at all and that's what she's known for...dishing the dirt. She does none. She does talk about her trials and tribulations and at times the book will bring out your "pinkness" but for the most part, it's rather disappointing and boring. If you are interested in how to get into the radio business, this book is full of suggestions and ideas. If you never heard her show, her advice, although not uncommon can be helpful. If you listen to her show and the advice she gives, you'd be surprised at how she handles certain situations in her life. And although I respect her for admitting to the world that she had a drug problem and I know now that it consummed her life for a long time, it didn't deserve the four chapters she gave it. I just expected a little more. But all in all, I love Wendy and I still listen to her everyday, I'm just glad I didn't pay for that book.

Summary: A Poorly Written Book
Review: The writing in the book is so poor all I could do was to put in down in disgust. The book opens with such sentences as "I am not hating on"... and there are street words and slang used throughout the book that made me wonder if the book had an editor. Later, there are comments from the author that if a woman can [perform certain actions] she will get somewhere in the radio business. I mean really. The book I am sure captures the author's voice, but to put that voice in a book and expect people to pay for the poor English and horrible writing is an act of wishful thinking. Also, the cover that is displayed on the Amazon page is not the cover that is on the book. The actual book's cover is much more provocative and it is as disappoiting as it is stupid. I don't care about he author's breast size. Finally, the lines in this book are spaced far apart and what one is really getting is a half a book that has been stretched to look like a whole book. ...

Summary: Is That All There Is? I prefer Robin Quivers
Review: I have not purchased the book but thumbed through it in a store.

Thoughts?:

1. the book is short considering all of the issues discussed
2. why is there no index?
3. the prose seems sloppy and at times there are embarrassing typos (for example, it is Celine Dion, not Dionne)
4. the cover photo is more suited to a porn mag not to a book
5. even though she claims not to look down on Robin Quivers, I think there is some animosity. Robin has class.

Wait for it in the bargain bin.

Summary: A Woman of True Substance!!
Review: I think this autobiography was refreshing, interesting, and an easy read. I began reading it as soon as it arrived and finished it in a matter of hours! Wendy was candid and real about the challenges that one can go through in this game called life and emerge virtually unscathed.

Admittedly, she'll leave you wondering who some of the nameless characters are- 'the 80's R & B" date rapist" and the member of famous rap duo who was nothing but a "bum"! If anyone figures it out, please let me know.

I especially like the fact that she exposes her drug addiction and how she was able to conquer it. This lets me know that despite any career success, her personal life was a shambles. What she went through to repair it was amazing. Wendy's Got The Heat is a must read for any summer reading list! The one word used to describe Wendy- Determination!
