Summary: We all can relate to this book!
Review: I have read this book and enjoyed every text and picture. I don't have an obesity issue but I definitely have self-esteem problems. For Carnie to be so honest and admit to us her flaws is very illuminating. This just shows that celebrities have the same issues us regular people are faced with. I enjoyed the depths of silliness as well as its depths of self discovery...my 2 cents! GOOD WORK CARNIE!

Summary: More than I wanted to know
Review: I have to say that as a person looking for information on gastric bypass surgery, the end of this book, after Carnie's story is what I found most beneficial. I have been on Carnie's website and found her to have such a sweetness about her and a true concern for others really came through. I was SO disappointed when I read her book. I found it utterly offensive with constant profanity and references to her private life that were more than I wanted to know. I would have enjoyed the book much more if it had MUCH less vulgarity, and more of that sweetness that I saw on the website. I was also bothered by her therapists' use of hypnosis in her treatment. In my mind, that is an alternative type of treatment and could put this type of surgery in a bad light for some, especially since it is already controversial in the minds of alot of people. By the way, I did enjoy the pictures in the book and I am very happy for Carnie, in her successful weight loss and marriage. She is absolutely beautiful on the outside! If she would just clean up that trashy mouth!

Summary: my review on the book
Review: I have to say that I read the book in two days. The only book I usually read that fast is Jackie Collins. The reason I read it so fast, was like Carnie I am looking into the suregry. I wanted to see what input she had on the suregry. Even thou, her input was quite there. Most of these things I already know.

If you are interested in the suregry, I would do heavy research on the web and speak with people who actually had the suregry done. Yes Carnie had the suregry done, but most of the stuff she talked about regarding suregry is again, things I already knew.

Summary: Very Real, Very Honest...GREAT!!
Review: I loved this book!!! It's not only for people researching gastric bypass surgery, but for anyone who wants to know what Carnie is really like. This book is very honest and real!! A little bit of foul language here and there, but unless you live in a convent, you have heard it before :)

Summary: Consider This...From A Real Person
Review: I read Gut Feelings in one night, and found the book extremely insigtful. Carnie Wilson's story is personal (sometimes a bit too personal). However, she does add all the elements of real life into her story.

For anyone researching or considering gastric bypass read this, also the end of the book is AWESOME, its gives various Dr.'s points of views about the surgery, physically, emotionally and all in between, a wonderful addition!!!

Summary: Carnie tells it like it is!
Review: I really enjoyed reading Gut Feelings by Carnie Wilson. She was able to give intense history of her life and her eating habits. I am a gastric bypass patient and I could relate to so many things she said in her book. Carnie is a beautiful woman and I am so glad she has shared her journey with us. Go Carnie!

Summary: Very good book!
Review: I really enjoyed reading this book. It went into detail about her surgery and her recovery afterward. I only had one complaint about the book. Her language. You better be prepared to hear the "F" word a lot because it is definitely one of her favorite words.Other than that the book was great.

Summary: Bypass Surgery Bypasses the Real Problem
Review: I think that the Carnie Wilson situation is the saddest thing I have heard in the longest time. People overeat because they are using the food as a substitute for something else in their lives, and until you address your feelings and your personal needs, you cannot be healed or healthy. Bypass Surgery may help your body lose the weight, fixing the SYMPTOM, but the actual illness is completely ignored. It's sad that our society cares more about how people look than how they feel inside - and this procedure buys right into it. I definitely think that if the problem is purely physical, than a purely physical solution is in order - but rarely is that the case. Until we are willing to look inside ourselves and heal our hearts and our souls, we cannot be either Healthy or Happy.

Summary: Loved it!
Review: Imagine meeting someone and thinking to yourself "She looks like someone I would like to know better". Well, Carnie is that someone! Now, for those of you who don't like cursing, this may not be the book for you. But, for those who aren't bothered by the way she speaks and thinks (and that includes a certain 4 letter word) which she does use from time to time, then go on and buy this book. Carnie comes across very open and honest about everything, from her weight, to drugs, to her sexuality. This is definitely a "tell all" book and Carnie doesn't hold much back. I found her story to be fascinating, and she is definitely someone I would like to get to know better. You can never really know someone by looking at them and not speaking to them or learning their ways. Carnie tells all, and shares her pain, anger and frustration. The only drawback I found to this book was that too much is dedicated to the surgery part in the end. With a "Q & A" section. I do not need the surgery, but wanted to learn more about the person. This book will give you insight into Carnie and also the surgery for those who are considering the procedure.
