Summary: Disappointing
Review: This is not a terrible book, but it is marketed to pug owners and fans as a collection of funny pug stories. It starts out as that, but ends up as stories about the author's attempts to adopt a foreign baby, which I care nothing about. I suppose a pug on the cover sells more copies than Russian adoption forms, but anyone buying this expecting pug reading will be disappointed.

Summary: GREAT BOOK!
Review: This book was great, I loved it! I laughed so hard, especially when my pug tried eating the cover and was barking at the picture of Clara! Anyone who loves dogs will love this book and if you own a Pug you will relate!!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A book that could only have been written by a pug "parent"
Review: I found myself laughing out loud several times throughout the book. It was truly amazing for a fellow pug owner, but anyone who loves dogs would enjoy it. Ms. Kaufman really paints a mental picture when she writes.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Clara the Early Years - a must have for pug parents!
Review: If you are a pug parent (and the difference between a parent and owner are explained in the book) you MUST read this book! Margo Kaufman has a wonderful writing style that will have you laughing out loud and nodding your head in agreement. Clara's antics are a pug at her most typical. Great gift for a pug person, too.

Summary: Pugs are great!!!
Review: Clara is the ultimate book for any PUGLOVER. After ready this book several times, I finally purchased a pug and named her Clara. This book reveals a pugs true personality and makes you laugh each time you reread this book. Clara is a sly little devil and flashes us her cunning yet sweet crooked smile. Each puglover should own this book!!!

Summary: I laughed out loud!
Review: I am not a pug owner, but I am a dog lover. This book was truly amusing and so clever. I enjoyed every minute of it. I laughed out loud - more than once at Kaufman's witty descriptions of this four footed friend who literally ruled her life! This is a great, lighthearted book that was a true joy to read!

Summary: Attn: pug-lovers, a must read!
Review: Anyone sharing their home with a pug will totally relate to Clara. Ms. Kaufman describes life with a pug to a tee using humor and wit. It's funny, heart-warming and well-written. Be prepared to run out and get a pug if you don't already have one after reading this book!

Summary: Clara, meet Tara!
Review: I enjoyed reading this book so much! I felt like it was about my pug, Tara, not just Clara. Margo hit the nail on the head with this tale of her furry family. Pugs have such a unique and different personality, and she totally understands them. I couldn't put this book down! I would give it 10 stars if they would let me!

Summary: Clara's long lost brother... Doc!
Review: Wow... this book was comical, heart-lifting, and extremely wellwritten. Margo Kaufman has an excellent style of writing, mixingequal parts cynicism, wry whit, and attitude. As I too own a pug, orperhaps it's he who owns me, I was highly amused reading about Clara'slife, and relating it to how close it was to Doc's. I took solice inthe fact that I am not the only person who has had to deal with the"Mightier than Thou" attitude the pugs seems to ooze 24/7,as well as to field what seems to be an endless stream of rediculousquestion when Doc and I are out on the town. I've tried to contactMargo Kaufman, to write her a letter praising her work, but have beenunable... if anyone knows her ... it would be appreciated. I was soinspired after having read her work, that I actually designed a webslide-show featuring my pug, Doc....
