Summary: Excellent personal view of MS
Review: Leave it to David Lander to show you the funny side of a chronic condition. I read this book mainly on the subway to and from work and the passengers probably thought I was mad laughing at a book were the title contained the word "Multiple Sclerosis". If they only knew how he presented MS in this book, they'd be laughing too.This book was better than I expected. Most biographies I read about people with illness starts in adult hood and doesn't really build up their character. David started in way before he became "Squiggy". I liked this approach because it made him seem more `common' as opposed to the non-attainable celebrity type. At the point in time I was yet undiagnosed with any illness. It turned out I had another illness, although the one I do have may develop into MS one day. This book made me feel better about whatever I was about to face. It was real, heartfelt and honest. David is inspiring and sharing his story in the way he did makes him even more loveable. Thanks David.

Summary: Outstanding book
Review: Mr. Lander is to be commended for this exceptionally well presented book. I guess it shouldn't be surprising since he has long been appreciated as a fine writer and performer. I work in a rehab center library and can honestly say that this book has received enormous praise among both people with MS and their friends and family. On a personal level, I found the story very moving. I can't imagine how difficult it must be to come to grips with MS, and to come out publicly with it while working in an industry that is not overly kind to physical problems. I recommend this book to anyone who wants a greater understanding of living with MS. But also, on another level, this is a great story about how a talented man initially broke into show business. I am glad to see that he is still working.

Summary: Anyone that needs a pick-me-up!
Review: My mother has MS and a friend purchased this guide when she was at a low point. She felt as if she was the only person denying symptoms and trying to act as if nothing was wrong. This book gives a humorous look at understanding yourself while dealing with this horrible disease. It is okay to say "I just can't do it today". Also, I highly recommend it for anyone that needs an eye opening to how unpredictable MS can be! I truly enjoyed reading it!

Summary: Changed my whole outlook
Review: The book came in on a Friday, I started it at 11 at night, finished it at 3 in the morning. I couldn't put it down. Being diagnosed in November with Ms, I've been depressed, moody, not sure what to look forward to. Now I've seen someone else with the same progression of symptoms, and I realized, it won't be too bad. I just have to remember that I can laugh at it. Squiggy did. I hope he reads these reviews every now and then, 'cause he really changed my whole outlook on the disease. Thanks David.

Review: This book really lifted my spirits. I read it th week after I was diagnosed w/ MS (a freightening time) and had a catheter in my arm for IV steroids. It made me laugh and cry (could have been heightened by the steroids :) It was a quick read - not a dense book you have to wade through but at the same time it has such good information on MS woven into it. The line from the book that keeps echoing through my head is - if you're going to have MS, now's the best time - its really given me hope. Its a fun book to read but also so very inspiring. I'm so glad Mr. Lander wrote his story. Gives me a yearning for Laverne and Shirley re-runs too.
