Rating: Summary: Indepth Of The Mind Of Another Hero Besides Che Guevarra Review: His book is long and goes into detail of what his child hood was like. If you are not a big fan of him, you are not going to like it. But if you are obsessed with him or think as him as one of your gods, then I strongly recommend this book. He explains the twisted childhood he had in a funny yet smart manner. In one instance he was forced by his neighbor to undress and play naked jail-mates. And in another instance he saw his own grandfather masturbate. If you are truly a fan, you already knew this with the song "Kinderfield" from the album "Antichrist Superstar". He also makes several references to other famous people such as Anton LaVey, the Black Pope, and Ozzy Osbourne. He has several pictures in the book. That is what makes it so great. It is not just words and words without any graphic content. At the middle of the book, he has about 6 pages, back and front, all dedicated to show his beauty in color so the whole world could see. After this book, you will feel that you have known Manson like if he was your own brother, or sister. I, after reading this book, knew Manson left and right, up and down like the back of my hand. Just to let you know, his first album is Portrait of an American Family. The best song on that album is Lunchbox. The second album is Smells Like Children. And the best song is Sweet Dreams. The next album is the Antichrist Superstar and the best song is The Beautiful People. Then he disappointed millions of his fans, including myself with his not-so-best-work Mechanical Animals, what a shame. After that, I didnt feel he was the true god for me. So I discontinued keeping up with him. But his most recent album is Holy Wood. But all in all, this book is pretty great. If you love Manson, or even like him, you will surely like his book. Also, I strongly recommend his tour Dead To The World. It is worth the time and money. What else can I say? You will very much enjoy it, I guarantee it.

Rating: Summary: Awesome Review: I love this book. Don't ever stop reading it, even when it gets slow. His childhood was shocking, a bit unbeliveable but whether its real or not, its very entertaining. It shows publicity photos and childhood photos. Old dreams that he had (starting the band) and funny columns about nothing at all. He has pics of friends, old band members, random thoughts and ideas. No one I know that has read this book has been disappointed.
Rating: Summary: Manson Vs. God Review: Briam Warner AKA Marilyn Manson, who ever thought that he would be so compelled to write a book about his life and it actually make sense. I love this book, It is my Favorite book in the Free world. Marilyn has a gift for words, not only in his lyrics, but also in his book. It was well written, emotional, very touching. It made me see a new light on the God situation. If anyone has a bad opinion about Manson they should read this book, and follow his rules, laugh at his stories, and cringe when he tells you about his Grandfather. I bought this book with upmost joy, and I advise this book to anyone Christian or not. Read "Long Hard Road Out of Hell" you wont regret it.

Rating: Summary: Addictive and informative! Review: Being a Marilyn Manson fan, I expected this book to be great. I got much more than great. It was very addictive, I couldn't put it down! Manson starts off in his school years (when he was still known as Brian) and keeps going until the Antichrist Superstar days. He tells all the details about getting high, trouble within the band, his religious beliefs, and his girlfriend getting their child aborted. A must read for fans and recommended for people skeptical of him.
Rating: Summary: moments of clarity Review: i read this book a couple years ago when i was a young innocent teenager and i have to admit that it honestly did open my eyes to a lot of things that go on in the world today. i've been a fan of manson for a while and reading about how he was raised and what he has gone through helped me to look at him as a person rather than just a rock star. i would suggest this book to other people especially the ones in my high school senior communication arts class. i gave a persuassive speech on manson and used this book as my foundation.
Rating: Summary: One of the world's most feared men is exactly that: a man. Review: The first words that come to mind when someone mentions Marilyn Manson are what? "Deomon", "AntiChrist", "Satan"? Well, there's one word left out: "human". Despite what most religious fanatics that are frightened of diversity and change would have you think, there's no getting around the fact that Marilyn Manson - born Brian Warner - is still a human being. Subject to the same hardships, burdens, and emotional dilemmas that we all are, as shown in this finely written autobiography, "The Long Hard Road Out Of Hell". Within its pages lies the life of who could very well be the most hated man in America, from his childhood, to a little while after the completion of his groundbreaking album "Antichrist Superstar". In the pages between, you'll find the events, the good and the bad, that shape and mold the troubled Brian Warner into one of the world's great inspirational performers, Marilyn Manson. This book is truly a great example of the hero's (or in Manson's case, anti-hero's) journey, and would probably even make a great movie if there wasn't the utter certainty that it would be boycotted by every self-righteous Christian authority in existence. Do I recommend this book? Most definately.
