Summary: I've seen better
Review: While I can't say one way or the other, not knowing the man personally, I still think that a lot of the "life experiences" he depicts in here are pretty hard to believe. His writing style is all over the place, seemingly knowing what he's doing one moment, then jumping around leaving you unsure of even his *approximate* age during the next chapter. I'm not even completely sure if everything is happening in order. Some stuff may seem really hard to believe (like his youth) if you hadn't grown up in a quasi-rural Mid-Western area, but while it's possible to have happened, I think he's not only adding, but also embellishing certain parts of his youth in an attempt to impress the stereotypical mentality of his fans, and, judging by what almost every other review that I have read notes, his assumed plot seems to have worked. In short, he's displaying way too much grandeur for his allegedly "like-minded" skeptic to take seriously, even if his writing style may seem apparently amateurish in parts. Some points (like his lists of "rules") show a sense of humour and give evidence that he probably shouldn't be taken seriously, which I suppose could be taken either way. I'm not exactly what to make of Chapter 16 or the chapter I can't readily identify that basicly details an acid trip. I also don't normally think much of an autobiography or mere biography that is occupies approximatly one fifth of the pages with old magazine interviews in the middle of the story when they could have just as well been compiled in the back of the book as a magical little thing called an "appendix." I suggest getting this, plus some unauthorised stuff and reading the Rolling Stone articles and then judge for yourself what is Brian Warner: kid from small-town Ohio and what is Marilyn Manson: big enormous rock star.

Summary: I can't put it down
Review: I have owned this book since it's release and it's pages are now dog-eared and worn. But I can't get enough. He makes me look normal, and I have to thank him for that. I am one of those fans that got to meet the man by accident, and I found that he is as insightful and intellegent, in person as he is through the pen. I have been a long time fan, and it is a plesure to get a personal tour through his life. It is haunting and pugent and you will never send your children to cathloic school again. I wish I was half as eloquent as he is, I hope he writes a sequal.

Summary: Manson At His Best
Review: I highly recommend this book to any fan of Marilyn Manson's, but even more so to the people who dislike him. It clears up so many of the rumors and delves into what made him who and what he is. Personally I've read it through five times already because it is very interesting. Anyone can relate to him (believe it or not) after reading his story. Enjoy!

Summary: Haunting.
Review: I really loved his autobiography. It's very interesting and you never what to quit reading it.

Summary: Impressing
Review: Marilyn Manson protrayed his life very well in this book. I think it's important to read it for someone who tries to understand his persona and the meaning of his songs etc.
Besides that, it strongly includes topics like sexuality and violence, so it may "offend" some people.

Personally, I liked the 14th chapter about his dreams best.

Summary: You'll see Manson in a new light
Review: Marilyn Manson has always been an outspoken man, but in his autobiography, it goes to a new level. "The Long Hard Road Out of Hell" is brutally honest and extremely compelling, and Manson himself paints a picture of himself as an underneath it all too human figure that his music just covers up. The saying Sex, Drugs, and Rock 'N Roll never took such meaning until this book was written.

Summary: Best Mrilyn Manson book ever!
Review: this is the best book i ever read. I told all my friends about it.

Summary: Provides a great understanding of this man
Review: Although I am not a huge fan of some of his music, I am truly fascinated with him. There was more to meets the eyes with Manson, and so when his book came out, I snatched it up.

Sure enough, this was a great chronicle of his life and how he became who we all see today. He debunks what his critics and vehement opposers say of him being an antichrist. He says he just shows people how he views the world by his music and concerts/performances. In other words, he's imitating society and showing us what we are like when it boils down to society's morals vs. its actions. He is our collective reflection.

In this book we see that Manson is intelligent, thoughtful, and yes, strange. But I urge all of those who see him as satanic to read this book and appreciate this man's work.

Summary: Best page-turner I have ever read
Review: I have always been a fan of manson's music, but I never really knew what was true about him and what was false. As it turns out, this book showed me a side of life that i'd never been shown before. It is a book that is very hard to put down, and i've found myself reading until 2 or 3 o'clock in the morning, for hours straight. The book gives many insights into manson's life, and why he is the way he is today, but it also shows that Manson is a bright individual, who knows what he's talking about. This book shines suprising reality on what you may have taken for granted before. My view of the world is certainly much different after reading this book. I recommend it to anyone who wants to see a much different view of the world. I have lent it to several of my friends and they have confessed to me that they were suprised by how good of a book it was. If you want something that will keep you reading page after page, i say you buy this book.

Summary: dispelling the myths, adding the truths
Review: Reading this book has been the weirdest experiences of my life, and I definitely recomend that, even if you aren't a fan, to read this. It is disturbing, though, but one can draw a vision of the world and how messed up it is. He states things that he has done, people around him have done, and paints a beautiful pi cture of himself growing up till he completes the book. This is a must have!!!!!
