Rating: Summary: A must-read for everyone Review: It's an awesome book. I've read it two times now, and I'm on my third time through. I can't put it down. I must say that it has definitely changed my life.
Rating: Summary: For a man who says he worships intelligence..... Review: he sure does not seem very intelligent. He claims that Satanism is about everyone being their own god and the worship of intelligence. If intelligence is blacking out from drug overdoses, sucking other men's penises, and frying a whole in your head with cocaine than I'm just not sure I want to be "intelligent". His claims of hating hypocrisy puts him in the same boat with every hypocrite that has ever lived by putting down all these rules of what it means to be an addict and a homosexual and then saying he is neither while breaking all of his rules throughout the same book. The only thing that partially saved this book was some good writing. Other than that, it just confirmed for me how "unintelligent" Brian Warner really is.
Rating: Summary: One of the best books ever written Review: This book is one of the best ever written. It has everything, It's sad, funny, scary and wonderful. And the best part is that it's real. You get to see pictures of some of the persons he talks about and it's very well written. I love it.
Rating: Summary: A Day In The Life With Marilyn Manson Review: If you ever wanted to live inside of Marilyn Mansons head, if only for a day, then this book is definitly for you. No one can argue that the man is not only an accomplished artist but a living piece of art. He's all about self expression. About having the guts enough to follow your dreams and not giving a damn about what other people think. He's everything most people wish they could be. Anyone having doubts that this book won't give you the information you're looking for, doubt no more. It will take you to the edge crying for more.
Rating: Summary: great book kinda sick though Review: This is Mansons auto biography detailing some of the events that made him into the All american antichrist that christians love to hate. And well being A very well written book some of the stories are pretty distgusting.Probably not for kids under 13.It was kinda funny actually I did this book as a A book report for language arts and literature and when the class heard who I was reporting on they were shocked.Just goes to show how ignorant people can be.Anyway A great book well worth your money.
Rating: Summary: Good Book! Review: Marilyn Manson, since his induction into stardom, has been critisized by countless people who claim he is the 'anti-christ.' No matter what your opinion about Manson is, this book sheds light into the more human side of Marilyin Manson - Brian Warner. It also shows the demons of addiction and the hardships we all go through to establish our position in life. This book would certainly be deserving of 5 stars because the reading material is so interesting, intelligent, and most of all, addicting. However, trasitions from chapter to chapter are very rocky. That, along with occasional gramatical errors, kinda left me lost at parts. Thats why I only rated it a 4. But over all, this is one of the best books I've ever read and I would certainly recomend it to anyone with an open mind. You won't be disapointed!
Rating: Summary: this book hits home HARD Review: This book The long hard road out of hell taught me that being an outcast is better than being popular. The part where he talked about his first time getting high hit realitively close to home for me. This book would be great even in your a Billy Graham worshipping bible thumper. It would show you what your up against and that we are some sick and hated people that if you want to have a religious battle with we love a good fight. This book shows you that although he grew up in conservative little Ohio he turned out to be a freak and thats ALRIGHT. Anybody CAN relate to this book, just read it and try to prove me wrong.
Rating: Summary: The Long Hard Road Out of Hell Review: The book that Marilyn Manson wrote was great. It honestly showed his life in his perspective and not journalists. If you are a Marilyn Manson fan, this book is most definitely a "must have". This book should also be for people who are not too fond of him. For it will make you look at Marilyn Manson in a different angel, and not the evil man the media has portrayed him to be. Overall a great book and one that I will recommend to anyone...
Rating: Summary: Incredible Review: This book is fabulous. Revolting, heart-wrenching, sadistic, hilarious, and bittersweet. Even if you hate Marilyn Manson's music, you'll love this book. Unless, of course, you are a person who looks only skin deep. Or someone with a weak stomach - this man has been through a lot. But every disgusting aspect of his life has come to play a role in the person that he has become, his insight on mankind and also himself, his proof that he is, in fact, human, and an intelligent one at that. It's time we need some rockstars like Mr. Manson who will admit that they are human, admit that they screw up, and to actually admit [instead of constantly prove] that they have human factors such as being self centered, ignorant, arrogant, greedy, addicted, etc.Manson is daring the reader to take chances, make mistakes, and learn from their OWN experience - not anyone else's. To question their own self, their own morality, and grow from it.
Rating: Summary: Raw look into Human Nature Review: We're passing this book around in the family and I've now read it twice. This is more than just a bio on Marilyn Manson (Brian Warner), it's a story of Humanity. And although it's impossible to explain, if you have an open mind, it will give you a whole new perspective on Humanity in general. With all of its dark aspects on the underbelly of society and its profound, unmitigated insight into our raw Human Nature it is a BEAUTIFUL story!!
