Summary: Good if you're only interested in rock bios
Review: I guess I was expecting more out of this even though it was a good read. It covers his childhood very well and does and OK job with his music experiences/friendships/loves etc. But I guess I would have enjoyed a closer look as to where this guy really comes from in terms of why his music is like it is and where he sees himself in the realm of "pop" icons. Didn't happen for me but worthwhile reading anyway.

Summary: Autobiography of one of the most intelligent people on Earth
Review: "...the more information he gave you the more you realized how little you really knew about him..." (Manson describing Anton Lavey)

Marilyn Manson is amazing, extremely intelligent, and has an intriguing outlook on life, as well as America in general...I absolutely love him.

I absolutely loved his book, too - it rips back the black curtain to expose the dark, twisted, sexual, disturbing, and beautiful life of a boy named Brian Warner who grew up to be a man named Marilyn Manson. The autobiography ends after he has transformed into the Antichrist.

Summary: A Great book for Manson Fans but its not all good
Review: The book has some amazing parts that truly captizate you. But some parts are so boaring and so unintresting finsihing reading that chapter is like one of those damned books they made us read in Jr. High. Buy it and you'll like it. Its just not all smooth sailing.

Summary: The Man Behind the Make-up
Review: Marilyn Manson is a frightening character, but Brian Walker, the man who plays Manson, proves to be an intelligent man. This book is filled with disgusting and perverse stories, but while Manson freely admits to them and rarely apologizes, he does give some level of justification. As far as rock and roll biographies go, this is one of the best I have read, because Manson writes well and usually has some cohesion to his commentary (which is far more than most books in this genre can boast). I was much more afraid and revolted by Manson before I gave I chose to read about his side of the story, and after doing so I have a greater understanding and less fear (though certainly no more respect) for him than before. It is a good book.

Summary: A MUST Read
Review: This is probably the best book I have EVER read. I have read lots of others but this book out classes them all. This book is soooo good that I just can't put it down and read it over and over. The book is very intelligently written and gives an interresting perspective on life.

Summary: Tall, dark, kinda scary...
Review: I love this book. I have a copy in my room, in my desk at school, and sometimes, late at night, I kiss the cover and dream of dead trees. Thanks for a great book.

Summary: SUPERIOR(I challenge anyone who didn't like this book.)
Review: This book was extremely hard for me to put down-the man is intriguing and in my opinion, a creative genius. I am a big fan of everything this man does. Well written, insightful, and a tragic, disgusting, fascinating story. but not for the weak minded who can't handle anything "gross".And one more thing for everyone who gave this book a bad review: If no one liked him, than where would Marilyn Manson be? Thank you for your time.

Summary: This is one brilliant dude...
Review: I was extremely impressed with this guy's intelligence and insight. A conversation with Marilyn would actually be stimulating and damn interesting. When probing beyond the trashy exterior, one will find a brilliant and articulate free thinker. I was a bit disappointed with his drug abuse and degradation of women, although the women did freely subject themselves to humiliation. I suppose it was somewhat of a psychological experiment to test the limit of human self worth. At any rate, I was very impressed with his candor and expressive abilities. Perhaps it was my ability to relate to the psychological scars inflicted by a hypocritical and judgemental Christian upbringing which impressed me most. That and my undying admiration for anyone with the guts to publicly scorn the conformists and followers of this sorry society.

Summary: The Epitomy of all hard heavy metal rock!!!!! a must read!!!
Review: This book was an amazing (although quite graphic) display of the insight of a rockers mind that no one probably expected. Whether you are a Manson friend, fan, foe or manson hater, you will not put down this book. I started it friday and it is now monday and ive already read it twice. READ THIS BOOK you will enjoy it.

Summary: This book is amazing.
Review: One little comment to the reader from Rockville: What do you mean doesn't believe in God but worships the devil? Brian Warner said straightforward on page 164, "What nearly everybody in my life-from John Crowell to Ms. Price-had misunderstood about Satanism was that is not about ritual sacrifices, digging up graves and worshipping the devil. The devil doesn't exist. Satanism is about worshipping yourself, because you're responsible for your own good and evil."

This is a phenomenal book, and even though Manson has messed up being a musician and the meaning of "goth", I would recommend this to anyone who knows how to read. I believe in Christ, and doubt many of Manson's words but he still is an intelligent person with a life worth telling of. The only flaw in this book is the lack of a real ending due to the journal entries in the last few pages.
