Summary: What else could you ask for?
Review: As an Aerosmith lover, I almost ran to Mama-kins to get a signed book...but that fell through. Then when I saw it again in NYC, a signed copy no less, i knew i had to go get the book. It's set-up totally different from your run of the mill auto, makes you appreciate how much crap Steve Davis went through compiling it all. A definite read for any fan of the boys, old and new.

Summary: A great read on the inside story of a rock'n'roll band
Review: As an Aerosmith fan I could not put this book down, but I feel any Rock 'n' Roll fan would enjoy this read. It is about some young men getting together to form a great band, only to have it fall apart from the excess's that go with it. Then the rise again after staightening out their lives told by the band and the people close to them.

Summary: The birth, death and renaissance of Aerosmith

Summary: So many years in too few pages!
Review: This book is a wonderful insight into the history and workings of Aerosmith. It would be meaningless speculation if it had been told by anyone but the band themselves. This book sets the record straight on a lot of issues and is very informative for every Aerosmith fan. My only complaint is that it was over so fast. These guys have a lot to say and I wish they had shared a lot more of it with us. Overall, a good read.

Summary: VEry informative-multiple points of view
Review: I really enjoyed this book. It is a comprehensive first person account of their career. Written in interview format, the band, wives, crew and managers give their own perspective of each pertinent event, not always agreeing on what really happened. This makes the book particulaly interesting. NOT YOUR TYPICAL AUTOBIOGRAPHY!

For a more conventional biography read Putterford's "Fall and rise of Aerosmith"

As for Aerosmith's lack of visible charity, most celebrity charity is arranged by their publicists to get their names in the press as do gooders. It is what is done from the heart that counts, not what makes it into the press. Aerosmith does indeed do charitable deeds in Boston and Worcester Sometimes publicly as in 100 cans of food gets you a meet and greet backstage, to private acts which I am personally aware of, but since they chose not to publicize it, I won't either. They give money, but more importantly I have witnessed them giving their time mostly sans press.

I'm a pilot and have known several of their flight crews. No orgies on the plane (anymore, since the 80's at least) very considerate and down to earth. Yes they are performers and aren't absolutely the same people as their personas suggest, but they are down to earth people for the most part and fit in with the average Joe's out there (just a little more money in the bank , though). With minimal disguise they do pull it off and it just may be a band member sitting next to you at Fenway park shooting the sh*t with you. (true story)

Back to the review, buy the book. It is not very flattering in spots (Tyler vomiting for example) but it will entertain you as well as giving you the mostly true story from beginning to present.

Summary: Like Aerosmith, this book rocks
Review: I love Aerosmith and have done for a very long time. When buying this book I was hoping that it would not be a load of rubbish made up by some fat, money grabbing buisness man. I was not disapointed. The book was an exllent acount of Aerosmiths carrer and contains information that you have always wanted to know about the band. The actual band had a lot of input in to this book so every acount is the truth. I do not want to give anything away, so basically if you are a fan go out and buy this book. You wont be disapointed.

Summary: The Other Side
Review: I must admit as an Aerosmith die-hard I had to have the book, but have been wary due to the many trashy rip-offs from ex-wives and the like. What impressed me most about the book is that everyone had their say, for better or for worse. Ex-managers, ex-wives, ex-girlfriends, ex-dope dealers, you name it, they're in here. They add the part of the story the boys were too stoned to remember themselves. Steven Davis is to be commended for what had to be many thankless hours of talking to so many people, and piecing the story together so well. What I enjoyed most was that the band talked about the music a great deal, instead of as some minor detail among the ruins. A great read.

Summary: An extremely candid, honest memoir
Review: This is a great book! I have been a huge fan of Aerosmith since "Toys in the attic". This is a no holds barred account of the groups life. I am impressed by the fact that the group was able to turn their lives around and they continue to surpass the other rock groups. They are truly the best rockers. a must have!!
