Summary: This is Nirvana, warts and all!!
Review: Because Nirvana only visited the Republic once, and also because of the lack of media coverage given to them in Ireland, I thought of them as just a faceless rock and roll band like any other band on the television. When Cobain killed himself I became interested in everything about them. The book allows you to understand the true story behind the band and gives a valuable insight into the generation America chose to forget. The author does not worship the band on every page. He simply tells the story and highlights the contradictions, lies and myths that surrounded Cobain. It's a killer book that you can read again and again and always find something new.

Summary: Bible of Nirvana
Review: EVery devoted Nirvana fan needs this book. Filled with rare photos, hours of candid interviews, and an encyclopedic account of Nirvana from Kurt's birth in 1967 to his death in 1994. Absolutely the premier rock biography, on the band that revolutionized the music of the nineties.

Summary: An excellent summary of Nirvana as well as Kurt
Review: If you have *any* interest in Nirvana (and especially if you like Kurt) you really do need to buy this book. I have found myself reading it lots of times, and always finding something new. The rare pictures are great; the chapters are organized well. Do yourself a favor and buy this book.

Summary: AWESOME
Review: With so many tabloid type books coming out about Kurt and NIRVANA, this book remains the best, the only auithority book on NIRVANA. The closest I can think of to this book is Cobain by Rolling Stone. It details Kurt and Krist's childhoods up to the release of In Utero. The stories are candid, Michael Azzerad really holds nothing back. Besides the in depth stories, it has many rare pictures, and a great amount of info on NIRVANA recording sessions and songs. If you like NIRVANA, then you have no excuse not to own this book. It is the NIRVANA bible. Accept no other but this, the ONLY authorized biography.

Summary: The most honest story of a band that made a decade
Review: This has got to be the best of all books that have ever been published on the band, and by far the most honest.

Truly a great piece of journalistic work

Summary: The Most-Accurate Story of Nirvana

Summary: One word: Wow!
Review: This book accurately displays Kurt and the band, not just as a fad of music, not just as a band, but as a movement in the culture brought into the United States. Before Nirvana, there were 30 alternative stations in America. After Nirvana, there are now well over 150. They simply swept the nation in their unglorifying music. Only brought out by the musical genius of Kurt Cobain. Michael brings out the truth about the band. Rather than what the people want to hear, and what the parents want to hear, so that they can tell their children "He was a sick man, who used drugs". It also shows the affects of the modern and Seattle GRUNGE society on one person. Long live Nirvana. Long live Kurt Cobain.

Summary: BUY THIS BOOK!
Review: This book is THE nirvana book. I got it from the library and am now buying it. This book contains rare pictures including the edited Nevermind cover and pictures from the underwater photo shoot. Don't buy it because I told you to, find a friend that has it or the library and read this book. That will make you want to own your own copy!
