"peace, love, emapathy" "the sun is gone but i have a light"- kurt
Rating: Summary: the best Nirvana/Kurt Cobain book ever Review: This is the best book written about Kurt & Nirvana I `ve ever read, most of the others were just totally crap. It`s up close and personal, I highly recommend it.
Rating: Summary: Everything you ever wanted to know about Nirvana, and more! Review: Michael Azzerad's biography of the band, is completely amazing. He discusses candidly many of the rumors that plagued the band at the height of their stardom and is able to relate the tales in away that makes you feel like you're a part of Nirvanamania.
Rating: Summary: Absolutely stunning, every Nirvana fan MUST HAVE THIS Review: A really good book - I'm still reading it but I am hooked. Much better than most other stuff because Azerrad seems to put across Kurt's opinions and points of view, then contrast it with the media's sensationalism. A lot of information on each album and explanations for why each track on "Bleach" and "Nevermind" was written (it'll probably do the other albums but I'm not that far into it yet!). Doesn't focus on his death at all apart from the chapter at the end. Shows both of Kurt's sides. Lots and lots of photos. Buy this book now even if you have only heard one song.
Rating: Summary: Excellent story discussing the life of Kurt and Nirvana Review: I enjoyed reading this book. Every Nirvana fan should get his/her hands on this book!
Rating: Summary: The Most Necessary Read On Kurt And Co.Should You Have One. Review: This Was The One Book On Nirvana That I Found To Be Complete And Comprehensive.Having Read It At The Height Of My Newly-Discovered Interest In Nirvana Last May,It Has Become One Of Those Items Which Stands As A Landmark Of Sorts. It Was All-Encompassing Of The Nirvana Story And Has Gone So Long Without Equal That It Remains As An Artifact Of That Time For Me.It Is One Of Those Material Things In Life That Becomes The Puppet Of Association.Through Its Manipulation Of Myself,It Has Become Associated With That Place And Time.Almost Eponymus,In Many Respects.A Good Read That Persuades One To Look Deeper At The Music Of The Band And,In That Way,Appreciate It More For The Dynamics Of The Music.Come As You Are Has Become One Of Those Books That Will Always Have A Place On My Bookshelf,If Not On My Writing Table,As I Reread It While Listening To The Music In My Head.
Rating: Summary: This is Kurt's life story from birth to death. Review: This is the best book I've ever read and have read it over and over again. This book is a really detailed account of Kurts life and Nirvana. Probably because Kurt told the guy his whole life story.
Rating: Summary: This book is the best!!! Review: "Come as you are" By Michael Azerad is a must have for any true Nirvana fans. It tells you the pain that Cobain had to grow up with, and how Vanity Fair and other magazines targeted him and his wife. This book shows you the true Nirvana and it's the best rock bio I've ever read.
Rating: Summary: For any *real* Nirvana fan Review: This is the best Nirvana book I've ever read. Unlike the others (i.e., by Dave Thompson), there are no impurities. This book doesn't read like a tabloid. Because of the interviews, everything in Come As You Are is true. Best of all, this book was written before the death of Cobain. Therefore, it isn't filled with the ranting of an author who never knew Cobain telling the reader how "oh, you could see the pain, the TERROR is his eyes..." Instead, Cobain himself tells the story of Nirvana. Come As You Are ,its really good.
