Rating: Summary: Mind Blowing Review: I read this book in high school and it amazed me. I enjoyed learning about how my favorite band lived life on the road. How Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones were already seasoned veterans. How Robert Plante & John Bonham were just kids from the country. These four would mesh together to become the greatest band of all time. They lived life in excess, unfortunly it cost John Bonham his life. If you are a fan of Led Zeppelin then this book is a must read.
Rating: Summary: An interesting turn of the Page. Review: The thing I enjoyed most about this book was its display of four ordinary young musicians who found fame at very young ages. The early Seattle stopover shed new light on the Zappa and the Mothers Mudshark story (live at the Fillmore 1971). The book talked of Zeps growth and shortcomings through good times and bad times. Too bad John Bonham never lived long enough to realize how great of a percussionist he really was. The blues was ripe for the picking and LZ took advantage of that. They were definately in the right place at the right time. This was surely a humorous and informative read about the sometimes-labeled heavy metal but greatest hard rock band in musical history.
Rating: Summary: Good Book about a Great Band Review: Not much new if you're a true LZ fan, but entertaining all the same. Good pictures of the best band ever!
Rating: Summary: totally awesome Review: wow man it like totally blew my mind i mean yeah rock on ya know it was like totally gnarly
Rating: Summary: Best Book Ever Written Review: I am a huge Zeppelin fan and I thought I knew a lot about them. I have all their albums, some other paraphenalia, and such. I also saw the VH1 Legends special on them. But this book blew all that c*** away. It gets up close and has quotes from band members, roadies, managers, etc. It explains the music industry and how Led Zeppelin dominated the music world with Peter Grant at the head. There is discussion about all aspects related to their music, from the meaning of the songs and lyrics to stories of their hardcore parties and also info about their private lives. It is the greatest book I have ever read, as it is told exceptionally well by Davis and flows well.
Rating: Summary: Most interesting book I ever Read Review: It's Coo
Rating: Summary: Absolutely frickin fabulous!!!!! Review: I was not a big fan of Led Zeppelin at the time i got the book. I had just gotten one of their CD's and i wanted to learn more about the band. I learned alot of stuff from the Shark Incident to Drug Addiction. I would recommend this to anybody wanting to read about a great rock band.
Rating: Summary: Interesting Read Review: I read this paperback about ten years ago, and even though I've never been a big fan of their music, I found this to have been a good book. Recommended.
Rating: Summary: THE ANSWER TO EVERY ZEP HEADS' QUESTIONS OF BLACK MAGIC Review: This book is not a book, it is the story about one of the greatest rock bands to ever play before a live audience. I wrote a research paper mainly from the information in this book, and I got an "A"on it(I am sick). If you are baffled by the black magic mystery, this is the book for you. It will send chills down your spine as layers of inexplicable proof that black magic was the reason for Zeppelins just shy of *13* year existence, and the dissaperence and loss of all talent.[You know what I'm talking about!!!(god awful Page/Plant tour 98)]
Rating: Summary: Dazed, But Confused No Longer! Review: What a fabulous biography of the world's greatest band! From the way they all got started, to the incredible overlap with other rockers' careers, to the meanings and history of the songs, to the unbelievable drinking, drugging, and debauchery, and all the other behind-the-scenes goings-on; this book was a great way to spend a few hours! For any LZ or rock music fan, this is a must read!
