Summary: Worth it for the pictures
Review: The short "skits" that try to explore Buckley as a person can be extremely weak and full of unnecessary commentary from the "author" from time to time. The bits that do resonant are well worth it and extremely tasteful. The pictures are marvelous and that alone makes the book worth buying. Really helped me discover the man behind the touching music.

Summary: accuracy please. he deserves it.
Review: There is no such thing as an eight octave range. Even dogs can't hear that high, and on the low end you find the rumbling before an earthquake. His father had four and half octaves, and hit notes that were way out of Jeff's already admirable range

Jeff was a truly talented, intelligent and sensitive musician, though without quite the range, voice or pioneering spirit of his father, Tim. No one should have to be compared this way, but to understand Jeff, one must deal with the father issue that so many struggle with. It plagued him and kept him from being productive - so many years without letting himself let the work leave the nest. But this comparison should not have to be made. In his own right, he was a fine singer and an individualistic musician and songwriter, with the courage to try and express his gifts. Had he lived, and not been plagued by the downside of the Buckley legacy, he would have solidified his place as a beautiful, inventive musician. But please, lets be realistic and do the memory of this gifted young man a proper service.

Summary: light on a very interesting subject...
Review: This book is a must have if you are a fan of Jeff Buckley. The person who said that nobody could hear an eight octave range doesnt know music (a piano has eight octaves). Jeff had said that he had a six octave range. Neverless with Jeff it was never about virtuosity. The music he created was beautiful and this book is a great tribute by one of his friends. The pictures are great insight into what an amazing person Buckley was. RIP

Summary: This book will make you smile, make you cry, make you feel
Review: This book is indispensable to all the die-hard fans out there! The exquisite beauty of Merri Cyr's photography is only enhanced by her connection to Jeff. These aren't the cold photographs of someone hired to do publicity shoots, these are the loving pictures of a friend. And the quotes and stories only enrich our understanding of the complexity of Jeff Buckley. It is beautiful and sweet and sad. You will read it again and again and when you don't have time to read you will find yourself stealing a glance at the photographs. This book is worth every penny.

Review: True fans of Jeff respect his music and appreciate the honest, open, and intriguing person he was. This book was created by a close friend of his and is not out to profit off of possible exploitation. It is rather a unique collection that celebrates the man and his life force: music. Buy this or borrow it, just please cherish it. I do.
